Great Unit

Comments about 50 Gallon ProMax Residential Electric Water Heater - Short Model:

My plumber sells, recommended and installed this electric unit in line with my existing oil fired steam boiler with tankless hot water coil. We were just tired of running out of hot water for showers, bath and laundry. During the warmer months the boiler will be shut off not using any oil and during the colder months will just preheat the water thru the coil going to this unit while making steam as the coil hot water limit switch / thermostst on the boiler coil has now been inactivated but water still passes thru the coil. it seems that we now have an endless supply of hot water. I'm lovin the long hot showers. Thank you AO Smith.

I did a lot of research about this unit and it appears that because of the insulation used meeting the high national standards it does not require additional insulation. My unit is actually cold to the touch on the outside. I hope this helps.
