Comments about 40 Gallon - 40,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater:

Exactly what I ordered. It arrived and was in great condition, it installed as per the detailed instructions and works great.
I hope it works as long as the unit it replaced (old unit installed in 1992) which is providing hot water in my work shop. A clean, efficient unit.

AO Smith doesn't disappoint

Comments about 40 Gallon - 40,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater:

I decided on the AO Smith brand, since I'm familiar with it and understood it is a good brand. Packaging is good and included extra pieces like escutchens, screens, pvc elbow, etc. Three inch PVC was a good fit, no adapters required. The unit was less noiser than the old GE it replaced. It beat the old unit hands down on performance. Two hot showers back-to-back, and it kept up with no drop in temp. The intake which is located behind the blower assembly allows you to run an intake to the outside. A true sealed burner. Not required for my setup, but it would make it run less noiser if you chose this option.
After Hurricane Sandy destroyed my first floor, I was in need of a replacement water heater. No one locally had the power vent water heater that I needed. Nor would I have found one for weeks. I found Pex Supply on a internet search. They had what I wanted in stock. The Rep was nice and courteous. Took my order over the phone. It was dropped shipped three days later in front of my house. Shipping was free. I can't say enough how much this helped me out. Thanks Pex. You made a bad situation better...

Just what I needed and when I needed it

By I like AO Smiths

Comments about 40 Gallon - 40,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater:

This new AO Smith NG Water Heater was just what I needed to convert to in order to be able to horizontally vent my exhaust with 2" PVC and avoid using my original 31 year old NG AO Smith water heater's vertical exhaust. Thus I could reclaim that valuable space in my floor plan for an ongoing remodel project. It appears efficient too. The only thing so far is that we do notice the blower motor when heating/running when we are upstairs. 3 showers were taken back to back to back in the house the other day and this new one had enough hot water for all 3. Buying and delivery were all good through Pex Supply too.

The life expectancy depends on a number of things, included usage, water conditions, maintenance (such as draining and flushing the water heater), inspecting and replacing the anode as needed, water pressure, and thermal expansion.
