Description for AO Smith GPVT-50-LP

The ProMax Power Vent water heaters have been engineered to maximize efficiency and deliver a greater energy factor (EF).

Features

  • Energy Star Qualified
    • All models meet the September 2010 Energy Star® EF requirement and may also qualify for local utility and rebate programs
    • Dynaclean II dip tube optimizes inlet water pressure to minimize cold water regions within the tank. The self-cleaning action also reduces sediment accumulation on the bottom of the tank.
    • Hot-surface ignitor is more robust and reliable than standing pilot, and reduces energy consumption.
    • Built-in heat traps on the water inlet and outlet reduce the amount of heat lost through piping
    • 2-inch, thick, "Environmentally-Friendly" foam insulation reduces the amount of heat loss and contributes to overall energy efficiency
  • Versatile Power Vent Design
    • All models feature an exclusive 3-position rotatable blower outlet which adds flexibility
    • Combined horizontal and vertical vent runs up to 180 equivalent feet with 4" diameter venting (ABS, PVC, CPVC and polypropylene)
    • All models are equipped with a protected sensor that detects the presence of flammable vapors and automatically disables the burner to prevent ignition
    • Air intake snorkel elevates the inlet location of combustion air to prevent flammable vapors from entering the sealed combustion chamber
    • Reduced NOx emissions comply with air quality management district regulations
  • User-Friendly
    • State-of-the-art electronic gas control provides more precise temperature control
    • LED control light displays operation status and diagnostics information
    • Factory-installed T&P and a durable, tamper-resistant brass drain valve are positioned for service accessibility
  • Available in Natural Gas and Propane
  • 6 year limited tank and parts warranty

PLEASE NOTE: The product weighs 192 lbs. and may require the use of a
    lift gate.
If you do require a lift gate at your delivery, you'll have the option to add this FREE of charge when you checkout.

Comments about 50 Gallon - 50,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater (NG):

So far so good. Ordering and shipping was fast and easy. Replaced an 20 year old AO Smith 75 gallon tank that was leaking. Installation was straight forward and so far (about a month) it has been working great. Definitely much more efficient than the old tank. Would recommend to anyone.

Replacement for AO Smith GPSH50 100

By Mark

from Spring Lake, NJ

Verified Buyer

Comments about 50 Gallon - 50,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater (NG):

I ordered two of these to replace a pair of GPSH 50 100 units that are 11 years old. They were still working fine, but getting old, and I was able to take advantage of a state rebate program for the purchase of energy efficient appliances.

The first one is up and running, and I'll finish the second one tonight. Units are bigger than the ones I am replacing, so had to slightly re-route the exhaust vent piping, but otherwise all is good.

Order came more quickly than expected, and Dan from SupplyHouse was very helpful with providing me a receipt that would satisfy the rebate program's requirements. I'm very satisfied.

had older model for 10 years before. This new one is bigger in size for the same 50 gallons, did not expect it, was hardly fit in my laundry room. Works good, not as loud as one before.

Quality product

Comments about 50 Gallon - 50,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater (NG):

I just received my new water heater a week ago and I installed it myself. I was very pleased with the condition of the packaging of the water heater. It was well protected and arrived without any damage. The installation was very easy. All I needed was a couple flexible water lines to allow me to connect from the new water heater to the existing water supply lines. After one week with the new water heater installed, I have been very happy. The water is hot any time we need it and it is also a lot more quiet than the old water heater, plus it is more energy efficient. Hopefully I can get many years of use from it just as my previous A.O Smith brand water heaters that I have had.

Better than my 75 gallon

By MJP

from Austin, TX

Comments about 50 Gallon - 50,000 BTU ProMax Power Vent Residential Gas Water Heater (LP):

Had a 75 gallon AO Smith powervent. It was loud and used A TON more LP gas to heat less water. This 50 gal unit has 90+ gal first hour usage, and far better efficiency rating. Runs less - puts out more. Easy to install. Highly recommend it and PexSupply.
