Fast shipping. Great product & service.

Comments about 50 Gallon - 40,000 BTU ProMax Plus High Efficiency Residential Gas Water Heater - Tall Model (Nat Gas):

This has been all that I expected thus far. The product is of high quality, it was installed (by the homeowner) with no issues and is working great. I really like that it has 2" of insulation (R16) which will help to reduce operating costs.

I should put in a word for PexSupply.com. They shipped very promptly and sent very specific instructions on how to inspect the heater when it arrived. Upon inspection, I discovered that the heater had been damaged in shipment (it was properly boxed and attached to a pallet). I contacted Pex and since the damage appeared to be cosmetic, we were able to arrive at a settlement and I accepted the shipment (a win for all of us: Pex, the shipper, and me).

Good so far

Comments about 50 Gallon - 40,000 BTU ProMax Plus High Efficiency Residential Gas Water Heater - Tall Model (Nat Gas):

Working well so far (installed a few weeks ago), much better than the 17 year old heater it replaced. Lots of hot water, plenty hot on only the "HOT" setting, and there are still three settings ("A", "B", and "C") above that.

The control is nice. Nice to have a separate anode rod, easily accessible from the top. Brass drain valve instead of plastic one on the Kenmore.

You can hear the burner when it's on, more so that my old water heater, but it's no problem and much quieter than my main steam boiler heating system.

PEX Supply answered my questions promptly and was very easy to work with.

By Home Owner

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about 50 Gallon - 40,000 BTU ProMax Plus High Efficiency Residential Gas Water Heater - Tall Model (Nat Gas):

Our home has 3 full bathrooms. The master bathroom has a very large spa tub. This water heater does a Great job. We use the spa tub often so I set the water heater thermostat to the B setting and the water does not run cold when the spa tub is filled. Taking normal showers we never had any issues with running out of hot water. The only issues that may be a problem for some is that the water heater is a little noisy when it is heating but it is not a problem for us since it is installed in the garage.

What is the ef rating of this water heater?

      A:

All I know is that the estimated annual billing per the energy use sticker
on it is $294 based on estimated annual use of 242 therms. This is far
better than the water heater it replaced which was a American (brand) 50
gallon 40,000 BTU gas input (same as new one) But new one has better
construction and 2 inches of foam insulation rather than the 1 inch of
fiberglass insulation that the old one had. This heater is a noticeable
improvement over old. It has a very rapid response time when you start to
harvest hot water ( it turns on with less than a gallon harvested) And I
have yet to notice the heater ever turning on when I have not harvested hot
water even for long periods of time like overnight even though the heater is
in my garage, even in the wintertime. The difference must be the better
      insulation.
      I hope this helps.
