    Great system; caution when installing

    Comments about AWS150M Advanced Water Softener System:

    The Aqua-Pure AWS 150M was an ideal solution for my home, and Pex Supply offers it at a very competitive price. Some caveats, however:

    The installation manual/user guide is not user friendly! Even a professional plumber had some difficulty following the instructions and executing the initialization process--which is fairly intricate. One small installation oversight--lack of teflon tape on connection between control valve and brine tank--caused the unit to lurch violently during the regeneration process. It took a second visit from the plumber, and a conference call with the manufacturer's chief engineer to diagnose and correct the issue: air being sucked into the control valve during one of the regeneration cycles. Once that was corrected, the system works great, and all indications are that it is extremely efficient with its salt usage (I have it set on its lowest salt setting). Kudos to the manufacturer as well, for assisting with the service call!
