The BAYweb thermostat will notify you of problems with your heating or air conditioning, and other important potential problems, such as a break-in or sump pump failure. These alerts are delivered to your mobile phone and to a list of email addresses you select. The alert server in our data center will alert you if the Internet connection used by the thermostat goes offline for more than 10 minutes. This warns you that you will not receive other alerts until the Internet connection is restored.

You can operate your thermostat anytime anywhere via web browser or a web-enabled mobile phone ( Dedicated portals designed for most major phones like the Apple iPhone provide access to your thermostat from just about anywhere). Unlimited use of the BAYweb portal is included at no additional charge. This state-of-the-art portal provides real time monitoring, control, and reporting for an unlimited number of BAYweb thermostats, and other BAYweb devices.

Applets give you the ability to easily customize your personal web portal to suit your needs. The Master Thermostat applet provides the ability to control multiple thermostats simultaneously and the Energy Profile applet provides a simple way to manage settings of multiple thermostats, both excellent features for commercial, light industrial and real estate use.

The BAYweb Thermostat provides comprehensive energy management reporting, analysis, and alerting functions previously only found in expensive and complex building management systems available to large commercial and industrial customers.

In addition to analysis and reporting, you can setup your web portal to alert you if the energy usage ever exceeds a specified threshold, a great feature for parents, vacation home owners, landlords and building managers.

Great product; easy set up

Comments about BAYweb Advanced Network Thermostat (Aluminum):

This is an outstanding product that I got from Pex. It was easy to set up and I can run my residential thermostat from my android phone with the app they provide. I can also see the logs of daily temperature changes (inside and outside) as well as monthly logs. A great feature is when power goes out, the Bay device sends me an email.

Comments about BAYweb Advanced Network Thermostat (Blue):

Using for industrial warehouse. We have about 10 units that we will be installing. Very easy to set-up and use. Should allow a much better control of HVAC costs. Easy web interface that practically set itself up.

Would prefer Power over Ethernet option, but am dealing with the need to supply power to unit.

Works as advertised.

Comments about BAYweb Advanced Network Thermostat (White):

This thermostat works as advertised. It is extremely simple to install and simple to use. Compared to the Proliphix line, this is ultra simple.

The "thermostat" or portion that mounts on the wall is pretty cheap looking. The mounting hole pattern on it makes little sense--difficult to mount. Those two removed a star. Otherwise, it would be 5*!

Just what I was looking for. after having a furnace failure, I purchased this to warn me if the temp drops too low. I have a battery backup on my router and this unit so if power goes out I still get the email to my phone. great for Cabins and remote homes like mine. [...] price was great. Thanks!

I would recommend this

Comments about BAYweb Advanced Network Thermostat (Light Gray):

This has worked well so far, I have had it about 3 weeks. It was not hard to install, as long as you are careful to watch the wiring colors to ensure the right outputs are connected to the furnace. It works well and is easy to use, both on the Bayweb web site that you use to control and monitor it remotely, and using the wall mounted control pad. Be aware that unlike a more traditional programmable thermostat, you can NOT create a schedule of when you are home, at work, etc. unless you use a web browser. Also be sure you know whether you have a more advanced furnace/AC, as you will need this advanced model if you do, and the more basic model if you don't. The mobile feature works fine on my wife's Blackberry, and I find it very useful to be able to set the temp to 50 deg on hold while away, and yet set it back to around 70 before we leave to go home from a trip.

The only minor negative I have seen is that the installation manual is slightly outdated; it shows a few photos of the basic unit instead of the actual one you are installing, and describes a few steps related to powering up the unit before you turn on the furnace's power, which makes no sense since the unit is normally powered by the furnace itself.

Fabulous product!

Comments about BAYweb Advanced Network Thermostat (Dark Gray):

We installed the Bayweb thermostats in a vacation house that we often rent out. No more worries about whether tenants will follow the check out list and lower the thermostats to 55. They leave and we are in control.
Relatively easy to install and they are simple, functional and look great.
We liked them so much that we ordered two more for our principle residence.

BAYweb should be called AWESOMEweb

Comments about BAYweb Advanced Network Thermostat (White):

I bought two of these to use with the heat pumps in our vacation home in Blacksburg VA. In the winter we would never let the house get too cold because it would take forever to warm up when we got there. Now we can leave the house at around 40, change the temp before we hit the road and it's nice and warm when we get there.
This thing has tons of features and data that it provides, but is still simple enough for a grandma to use. It can do as much or as little as you want.
Wireless internet connectivity would have been nice, but since these were so cheap compared to the competitors I gladly bought a wireless bridge.

    Q:

will this control an electric baseboard heater.
    Asked on 3/26/2014 by TRC

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This is a low-voltage thermostat, so additional equipment would be needed for it to control a line-voltage baseboard heater. You may also want to consider Honeywell's E-Connect system, which is designed for line-voltage heaters and can be controlled online when used with Honeywell's RedLINK Internet Gateway.

HI, It will not directly. I f you wire the BBH to a low voltage relay i.e. 24 volt relay and use the relay to switch the BBh then yes.

    Q:

Have been looking for a thermostat that can monitor temperature when I am away for any length of time (vacation home). It appears I need the advanced version for a 2 stage furnace. If the power goes out, will the thermostat pick up where it was previously set once power is restored or can it be reset from the web? I saw where the Nest had an issue where it had to be manually set if the power was lost.

I think all the settings are stored on BayWeb's servers, so if the power
goes out, it'll pick right back up where it left off. I've not had to
reset anything after a power outage.

I have this thermostat and have the advanced for my 2 stage.
Any time we have a power outage, the thermostat picks up right where it left off and has the correct temperature and functions set. The display DOES show an error code relating to the power outage, but all you have to do is tap any button on the display and the error code disappears.

Yes, it will retain your settings. The thermostat will read an E3 but if
you hit the up or down arrow it will state the settings you had. I have not
had trouble with it at all with power outages. It did save me last winter as
I was gone and it emailed and texted me when the house temp hit the low
level I had set. I was able then to get a friend to check out the furnace
while I was gone! So far I have to give the advanced network version a A+.
It will even tell you when the internet is down. That would be the only
time you would not know what is going on with your home. Hope this helps!

When the power goes out (loose internet connnection) the thermostat
displays E3 in the window to let you know that it lost its internet. I
dont think the E3 will go away without phiscallly touching the thermostat
on the wall. Since your not going to be there the "E3" is not going to
bother you. I am not sure what will happen if you try to adjust the
temperature on the web while the power is out. If you really need to know
I will pull there Internet connection on mine and see what happens. But
what I think you really want to know is once the thermostat has been
programed power or Internet failures don't change what it set to do. I am
pretty sure it will run just like a mechanical timer thermostat. Unless,
you wanted to make the temp go up and down while you were not there, what
you would probably want to do is put it on "hold" and one of the "away 1".
While mine is on "away 1" it will not move the temp but will send me a text
page to let me know someone is in the house. When I am coming home I just
put it back on the normal program from my phone. I think this will work
perfect for you and mine has never needed rebooted or anything at all that
would require me to actually be home. It is a little hard to understand
what you want to program it to do, it does a lot of things. I am really
happy with mine. The tech support people are great. I had a few
installation questions and my unit was wired wrong by the original
      installer of the a/c.

The thermostat does not need to be reset if power is lost, it will retain
      all settings.
This may not be true for your specific furnace though.

the bayweb thermostat does restart automatically when the power is cut off - it returns to where it was prior to the power outage - no need to program the unit again. power is cut at my location regularly and this unit handles it well. I am 500 miles away from the unit and it would be a real problem if the unit required any manual adjustment. the unit can be adjusted over the web and does not require any help when the power is cut off.
