The fan in my 20+ year old K82 toe kick heater was making a lot of noise as the bearings were wearing out. Beacon Morris indicates that parts are no longer available for K82 heaters. I can report that the K84 fan fits the K82 heater perfectly. The only issue is that the old K82 fan had a built-in junction box for the electrical wiring connections, and the new fan has exposed wiring. Adding an external junction box addressed this issue. Recommend the K84 fan to fix old K82's. Nice and quiet again.

I'm afraid I'm quite dissapointed in the blowers. One of them I had to replace an old blower fan with the new motor for it was so off center it made a terrible vibration in the whole house when on. Another one is doing the same thing but I have not had a chance to replace it yet. Not sure what to do now......

Comments about Motor Fan Assembly for K84:

This new K84 replaced a worn-out Beacon Morris motor/fan from circa1969. I was apprehensive to buy such unit without knowing if it would be a drop-in replacement. The motor/fan frame matched exact, just had to adapt the wire/junction box placement. I expect to get another 45years of service with this new fan. I appreciate designs that have a long, sustained life.

Quieting a kick-space heater blower

Comments about Motor Fan Assembly for K42:

When our kitchen was remodeled in 1991, the baseboard hot-water heating in the kitchen was replaced with an effective and reliable under-cabinet Beacon Morris heater. The aquastat eventually failed (fan wouldn't turn on) and, in 20124 or 15, was easily replaced. Although the Motor Fan Assembly never stopped working, it has gradually gotten louder and easily noticeable in our living room which is just around the corner from the kitchen. We decided it was time to replace the assembly and keep the old one as an emergency backup. Along with the new fan assembly, we decided to order a back-up (and new-design) aquastat assembly. As always with Supply House, the parts order was filled quickly; and the clear fan installation instructions made that task a routine one.

Comments about Motor Fan Assembly for K42:

Thanks for the fast service the motor fit good and run good quieter than the old one. Hard wired in using red wire for max speed and the 1/2" pipe clip aquastat. Good thing for SupplyHouse.

      A:

Unfortunately no, this replacement motor fan assembly would not work in the K41 unit. The entire kickspace heater would have to be replaced with the K42 unit, as parts are no longer offered on the K41.
