I have ordered these in the past when the coupler on my pump has broken. They seem to break about once a year, so I always keep a few on hand so I have replacements. Personally I don't like the fact this particular pump uses a coupler, as I have another pump in the hot water system that does not. I haven't had to worry about that one for going on 5 years now. However, this is the pump we're stuck with, and I'll change the coupler every year until the pump itself finally gives up the ghost and I can get one that doesn't use a coupler.

If you need to replace the coupler because of broken springs, it is recommended you also replace the resilient motor mounting rings also. They will sag over time and cause miss alignment of the motor shaft and impeller shaft.
The coupler instillation requires a little intricate work to install but with some good lighting, it only takes 5 minutes and well worth the effort to maintain a good old pump design.

This was the exact part I needed to "do it yourself" fix my radiant heating system. I could tell from the photo that this was a match, and sure enough it works great. The old part blew apart (2 springs broke) after 60 yrs. of service. This replacement looks to be an exact replica of the original part. I was very pleased, except that the shipping cost more than the part itself yet still took several days to reach me. But considering that no retail stores in Los Angeles carry this part, it was worth the wait to get it from PexSupply.com -- I've shopped for parts here before, and I'll shop here again.
