Like the TTW1®, the TTW2® model is also power vented but offers higher BTU/Hr. inputs, additional insulation and larger gallon capacities. The TTW2® also offers greater installation flexibility with the ability to vent through a wall or roof, with either 3 or 4 PVC, ABS or CPVC pipe.

Comments about 48 Gallon - 67,000 BTU Defender Safety System TTW2 Power Vent Energy Saver Residential Water Heater (Nat Gas):
I use this to provide house potable water and to heat my basement floor. The rapid recovery of water because of the 65,000 btu is perfect for our 5 person household; we never run out of hot water yet, with a 48 gallon capacity, we are never heating water that we won't use like we did with the bradford and white combi boiler that was 75 gallons and 75K (or thereabouts) btu. The old heater was replaced at 17 years as a maintenance item - the heater did not fail, however there was quite the buildup of calcium on the inside and the pwr vent was quite loud, this was is very, very quite. Have no complaints at all but I do wish it has a higer efficiency rating. I asked the plumber what he thought and he said I coud've gotten a Rhem for about 500 bucks less and that this was a high quality piece of machinery. Two most significant things of this are the quick recovery time of cold water to hot and the side connections. Also nice is the temp. dial so you can set the water temp - even to holiday setting. Also, I do believe that there is no continuous gas pilot light, it switches on only when the heater heats water.
Comments about 48 Gallon - 60,000 BTU Defender Safety System TTW2 Power Vent Energy Saver Residential Water Heater (LP Gas):
My last Bradford White heater lasted over 15 yrs. I looked locally for a direct vent replacement but would have had to compromise qualities. This model had the highest BTUs for a 48 gal heater which means a fast recovery. The temperature adjust is easier on this model than on my old one. I am very pleased with its performance.

Q:There is exhaust spillage evident at the top, what should be the method of testing for issue id ? (not a new install)
A:A power vent would typically be moving all exhaust through the vent and that movement is sensed by the pressure switch. If there is evidence of exhaust spillage on the unit the installer or certified technician would need to check out the system to see what is causing the issue.
Q:I don't see a recommended concentric vent kit in the manual, can you please make a recommendation for a horizontal concentric vent kit?
A:This is a power vented unit. You would not use a concentric vent kit with this unit.
