Comments about 1/2" IPS BFP Backflow Preventer:

I bought this as a replacement for a leaking back flow. It was easier to replace with the same model than to solder in a new one. It bolted up perfectly with no leaks and the customer was happy. The price was very reasonable and the shipping was extremely fast. I will order from this company again. They never let me down.

CAN I JUST PLUG THE VENT ON THE BFP IF I DONT HAVE A DRAIN IN THE AREA.

                  A:

Do not plug the vent! It is like a pressure release valve, so if it is plugged, and somthing happens that it wants to release pressure, somthing else will blow up! Under normal conditions, nothing will come out of the vent, so you would be better off connecting a hose to the vent and run it down to the floor at the very least, that way if it needs to vent pressure you will not have water spraying all over, it will go down to the floor, and hopfully will run away. It would still be much better to run the hose to a drain, even if the drain is across the room.
