Comments about 1/2" SharkBite x 1/2" FNPT Ball Valve:

I recently split the zones on my home so that I wasnt heating unused space. I opted to use these push valves over isolation valves on the top of my circulators and my returns because of the ease of pushing in a piece of pex tubing and being done. I have used push fittings for several years, and while they arent the best product in every case, they save lots of time. They cost a little more in price, but I figure the time and ease of use makes up for that.
Neat hint; dont be suckered into buying a removeal tool...the piece of plastic that cost them 2 cents that they charge $3 for...instead, use a tube talon...the nail in pipe holder...they work fine in releasing the tubing from push fittings. Or use pliers and loosly grip the pipe while pushing towards fitting against release ring, push tubing in slightly, then pull it out. This takes a little more effort than a nailer.

Will the female end screw onto a pvc 3/4' male fitting? Thank you.

    1 answer

Yes, as long as the PVC fitting has standard male pipe thread.
