Had to replace a bad sillcock, and this made the job easy. Has the added advantage of making my draining of the system in the fall much easier, with the internal drain!

Installed 3 of these valves in conjunction with a whole house water filter system in a bypass configuration. They are great, and now my wife can turn off the house water in needed. Being able to rotate to a comfortable operating position is very cool. I did secure both sides of each valve with bell pipe supports to be sure they stay in alignment. Great product and no leaks!

Used 1/2 inch SharkBite fittings and valves to tap off a 3/4 inch heating zone and feed a toe kick heater. Other than a couple of venturi T's that had to be soldered into the zone and a short piece of 1/2 inch copper on each to allow connection of the SharkBite fittings, everything was done with SharkBite fittings.
When finished I had one valve that wouldn't close. Took it apart and discovered that I had caught the end of the plastic insert inside the valve when pushing in the copper pipe, jambing the plastic into the valve section. Removed the damaged piece, checked with SharkBite to see if a replacement piece was available and learned that it is for use with PEX and not needed if using copper. So, when using SharkBite fittings with copper, just be careful not to catch the plastic insert with the end of the copper pipe when pushing together. If you're using a SharkBite valve, leave it in the closed position when assembling.

We use these in our business routinely to replace corroded gate style valves and they work great. Installation is easy when there is still water in the line and they work great.

To get a steady stream, you would need to blow out the lines with compressed air.

I have one of these for my splinker lines and I'm trying to drain the line. When you unscrew the drain screw the water just drips out very slowly. Is there something I should do to get a steady stream or is it just supposed to drip?

It will only drip unless you blow the line out with compressed air. Using compressed air would give you more of a steady stream.

The drain value is used to drian the water between the the valve and the faucet. I used on the hot and cold water in my garage wash tub. During the winters I shutoff and drian, spring open and ready to go.
