I live in a remote area where it is hard to get qualified tradesmen to come and do a job. If you can get one it is expensive. So much for trying to get a plumber to complete a large remodel to our water system. When I saw this product it was like an answer from above! I could possibly complete this project and never need to solder one joint! After having this product in my house for two months now without a single sign of a leak I must give it a great endorsement. I connected copper to copper, copper to PEX and copper to brass. It all is working great. I can now do all the plumbing I need to without the expense of a high priced tradesman.

I bought a few of the SharkBite items to use on a temporary basis while I was redoing my house a section at a time in PEX, removing the old (really old) copper and galvanized pipes and fittings.

Finding the SharkBite fitting really well made, easy to use and remove (with the tool) and allowing some rotation at the joint, I am going to use them permanently

great for connecting to existing plumbing; 1/2 copper or 1/2 pvc I was using new pex 1/2" pipe. Just press in for a leak proof coupler.

I did have a problem with one connection to 1/2" pvc though! the pvc was older & brittle & the plastic insert from the sharkbite wouldn't fit inside the pvc forcing me to make an alternate connection.

Couplings and other shark bite fittings let me get out of the old copper and switch over to pex without the headache of sweating on fittings in cramped spaces and all the extra work involved in copper replacement

Worked fine...I bought about 8 to 10 SB fittings. They were easy and worked fine for the areas where they were needed. One had a defect and leaked (or I damaged it upon install...a little nick in the inner sleeve). But that is not the fault of Pex Supply. Very impressed with this company. I did my job for half what it would coast at big box stores.

SharkBite fittings are not compatible with any types of PVC pipe (Schedule 40, Schedule 80, DWV, etc.). One way to connect 3/4" copper to 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC without soldering would be to use parts U088LF and 436-007 together.

Just make sure you slide it all the way in and then pull back on it to get it to seat properly. I have done this with a pex line coming out of the concrete floor with only about 1.5 inches sticking up and the shark bite has been holding pressure leak free. Hope this helps.
