I completely redid 50 y.o. copper plumbing with pex tubing. Coming off the 1" water main with 1" pex tubing seemed easy on paper, but 1" pex tubing is not as easy to bend once it gets a normal directional twist that occurs once you make one 90 turn begin another. The bend radius of the tubing is just too great to make 2nd or 3rd turns within the 2x8 floor framing cavity, even with plastic bend supports. So you either jump back to copper and solder up a couple 90 elbows with pex stubs on either end and spend 20-30 minutes, or cut the pex in 10 seconds and install the elbow in another 10 seconds and move on! Pricey, but time is not free and so are 1" copper fittings. Leak free so far ... a master plumber puts these things on boilers all day long!?!

I have eight rental units and buy and sell houses. These fittings work really well under sinks and areas where soldering is a real pain. Fast, easy, and 1/2 price of stores in this area. I always want a nice, neat looking finished product and job. These fit the the bill. My last two orders total over $700.00 and I saved at least that much in cost of material. Time savers! They work for copper and pex. No problems as of yet.

My 1999 Coleman Cheyenne pop-up had PB tubing for the fresh water and it's a slightly different inside diameter than standard flexible tubing but I found out it was the same as PEX and this Sharkbite elbow was recommended to me by a guy at a local large chain hardware store but they did not have this size, so I got it from SupplyHouse.com. It was inexpensive and the shipping was super fast and it fit perfectly. I highly recommend Sharkbite for fixing PB lines. Incredibly simple and quick. :)

We had to install a filter system because the city water had crypto! This entailed considerable plumbing and the final cutover to the filter system was made employing the sharkbite reducing elblow. Pex supply was the only online merchant that had the elbows in inventory. I hesitated for quite awhile before ordering as the shipping was expensive, but ultimately made the purchase. Great product and great company!

I would have had to remove floor plywood and additional drywall without the PEX fittings. They were easy to use - cut the copper tube, clean the end, slip on the fitting and insert the new PEX tubing into the fitting. Done. What a time saver.

You can also connect 1/2" PEX-AL-PEX directly to most radiant heat manifolds. Use part D4120500 with Uponor TruFLOW manifolds and part MA-50PAP with Rifeng manifolds.

You can keep the insert in the fitting when using copper, but it may cause a very slight flow reduction. SharkBite fittings work with flexible copper, but it's a good idea to keep a straight run of at least a few inches out of the fitting.
