Perfect, just perfect. Can't imagine not

Comments about 3/4"" Ball Valve x 3/4"" FIP Sharkbite Flexible Water Heater Connector - 18"" (Lead Free):

I can't imagine NOT replacing water heaters without these. I am a landlord and replace about two a year. These are super fast. Turn off the water and open something to relieve the water pressure. Cut the pipe at about the right height and quickly slip the sharkbite over the pipe with the ball valve closed. Boom, no more water leaking over things and no need to drain the pipes. Replace the water heater and screw the other end in. If the initial cut was too low, remove the sharkbite fitting with the removal tool (you can do it without the tool in a pinch, but it is worth the dollar to have on hand) re-cut the dripping pipe, and put it on again.
Get teh 18", you don't know when you will need the extra length, and you need to get by the hot chimney.

The SHARKBITE 18" long 3/4" size flex hose with a ball valve attached was the perfect solution for my easy installation of a residential water heater. Followed the installation directions carefully and not a drop of leakage.

I set out to eliminate all threaded joints in my water heater installation. this product eliminated all (8) but one of the threaded connections (not possible to eliminate) and provided me with the water valve bypass solution I wanted to add to my project. the product worked as advertised. it was easy to install and had nary a leak. great going SharkBite!

              • 1/2"" Ball Valve x 3/4"" FIP Sharkbite Flexible Water Heater Connector - 18"" (Lead Free)

                Q:

Is the 1/2" ball valve a pex fitting and does the 3/4 connect directly to the water heater, i.e., is this intended to be an easy way to go from 1/2" copper plumbing directly to the water heater?

                  A:

The 1/2" Ball valve is a standard sharkbite connection that can be used with pex or copper. The 3/4" side is standard FNPT thread, intended to connect directly to a water heater.
