Perfect Upgrade that works with Smart (Nest) Thermostats

By Gwok

Comments about NCM-300 Control Panel:

Had an older EWC ST 2C control panel that is not compatible with newer smart thermostats such as the Nest. Spoke to Steve at EWC who let me know of the easy upgrade to the NCM-300 panel from the ST 2C. Exactly as he promised it was an easy wire to wire switch over that I did myself in about 20 minutes which included fastening the new panel to the wall. Connected the Nest thermostats and they fired right up. Great product and great customer service from EWC and quick shipping from Supplyhouse.com. Thanks!

Compatible with Ecobee3.

By Bryan Richard

from Groton MA

Verified Buyer

Comments about NCM-300 Control Panel:

The NCM-300 board replaced the ZoneFirst MMZ3 equivalent zone board due to the MMZ3's compatibility issues with cobee3. The ZoneFirst board with an Ecobee3 connected to it, ran the fan continuously. This would end up dragging cold (or hot) air from the returns of the other zone resulting in vastly reduced heating/cooling efficiency. The NCM-300 installed easily, and works flawlessly with the Ecobee3. The included enclosure is functional and the clear cover provides the ability to see inside without removing it. The wire punch outs are plentiful and well placed. The NCM-300 was the Ecobee-recommended replacement for the ZoneFirst product. Others have had this issue with the MMZ3 board. Search "fan runs constantly with ecobee3" .

Wonder Board

By Richie New HVAC trainee

Comments about NCM-300 Control Panel:

Thank goodness that I saw this in a review and learn from it that I could replace my old board that would not let me install a modern wifi thermostat. I called a heating and cooling technician and I was given a quote of $1100. I ordered this NMC 300 with new damper controls for less than $300. It was easy to install and
Supply House tech service help made it easier. Now I could control both my upstairs and living room thermostat independently. Great Control panel board !!!

easy DIY replacement for older EWC zone control panel

By LP

from New Canaan, CT

Comments about NCM-300 Control Panel:

Wanted to install a Nest thermostat on one of two zones (leaving original thermostat on 2nd zone)

Turned out Nest not compatible with the master/slave configuration of the ST-2E zone control panel, so I decided to try the NCM-300 -- which has independent zone control

First checked the color coding of the wires was correct (can be confusing if it isn't..), all looked good so I swapped panels, hooked up the Nest and all is working perfectly

Very easy to install. I replaced old EWC with this one and it worked from first try. I am not an HVAC person and this was easy enough for me to figure out.
