Comments about S2000 Steam Humidifier (120 VAC):

We are an HVAC Contractor. This is the 2nd S2000 that we purchased from Supply House. One of our customers asked for a Steam Humidifier. We installed it on the bottom of the supply main.

The only downside of this hiumidifier is that there can be situations were space is limited and it cannot be installed.

Comments about S2000 Steam Humidifier (120 VAC):

This humidifier is very good. I use two of them to cover 3,600 sq feet. The only problem is that they do accumulate a lot of scale. This is mostly a function of how well our building in Chicago treats the water. Since the manufacturer added a zinc anode and a drainage system this is better, but manual descaling is called for several times a season. The unit I initially received from PEX stopped working after a few days and they replaced it with a new unit. I had a similar experience with a different retailer who replaced my unit with an obviously reconditioned unit. That's why I switched retailers. I am lucky to get three seasons of heavy use out of these humidifiers then it is cheaper and easier to install a new unit then recondition the original unit. I will definitely shop at PEX again.

                Not a good design

Comments about S2000 Steam Humidifier (120 VAC):

This has been installed on my furnace for 4 years, and it is now dead, due to a shorted heating element. The design makes it difficult to maintain. Six screws (and the plumbing connections) must be removed for basic maintenance. The humidifier builds up a lot of scale that must be removed once a year. The scale is in and around the heating element and it is not easy to clean it out without damaging the element. After some research, I've decided to replace it with an Aprilaire 800.
