  • EX55 Flow Controlled Electric Tankless Water Heater With Pipe Compression Fittings On Bottom Of Unit

    Q:

I want a unit that would handle a bath with a shower. Will this unit (ex55) handle 1 shower? What is met by "flow controlled"
Would the ex 55t be a better unit for a bath with a shower?

      A:

This particular unit is compatible with a low volume hand set shower (GPM range of 0.7-2.0) but not a bath, so this would not be adequate for what is needed. This unit is considered to be "flow controlled" as the flow switch activates the heater only on
demand (no standby heat loss). A bath typically has a flow range of 2-4 GPM, and a standard shower has a GPM range of 1.5-3, so a unit with a higher flow range is needed. EX55T would still be too small for this application.
