We have 2 dryers connected to once exhaust duct the span runs about 35 feet, before i installed this fan - if clothes were left in one dryer while the other was ON they would get all wet from the heat seeping in , on top of that the whole basement would get hot from the air that couldn't escape so far down the duct to the outside.
I installed this Fan, it took literally 2 Hours from start to finish (i'm a little handy)and it is extremely Quiet,
i'm really happy problem is solved

there was one problem though the screws FANTEC provided to mount the fan onto the bracket were too long causing them to block the blades of the fan so after installed it the unit made a buzzing sound and didn't work i replaced the screws with shorter ones and it worked fine after that (a very bad Booboo they should provide 1/4" screws instead of 1/2 inch)

Overall the product works great now price was right and the fact that i can plug it in is a great option i barley have electrical in my basement.

I believe that this is a good product however the unit had a defective pressure switch and had to be sent back to the manufacture for repairs. The mistake I made because of the installation instructions was I should have contacted Pex supply instead of Fantech because I had to pay the shipping costs to the Fantech repair facility(Fantech) said that they would cover the return shipping costs BIG OF THEM (Brand new out of the box)

Comments about DBF4XL Metal Dryer Booster Exhaust Fan w/ FG4XL Fan:

had to move laundry room to downstairs. Dryer run is now about 25', up, down and around. This unit pulls the exhaust fully, doesn't clog with lint and actually runs about 10 minutes after cycle so as to remove heat. NOTE: when you open the dryer, the clothes are nearly room temp, the booster pulls so well!
also, the unit, mounted next to the exterior wall venting, is very quiet and unnoticable inside the house.
              great find...

Easy to install - fan worked perfectly. Recommend that you know the correct amperage of the electrical lines feeding power to the fan before you install.

I mounted this booster fan in my garage to exhaust from one side to an exterior wall. It took more time to run the duct than anything else. Works great. I would have given 5 stars but some wording on installation instructions were misleading. My wife says it has cut drying time by almost half.

No complaints. The only issue I have run into is when there is a strong breeze the fan will turn on by itself. My fix was to install a switch to the oultlet providing power to the fan.

Works great. Clothes dry much faster. Remember pressure switch must be mounted at 3pm position. This is difficult if mounting inside a floor joist. This should be mentioned but isn't. Easy install. Had it for a week now and very happy with it.

I have installed two of these. Both work perfectly. Both are installed in horizontal pipe.

Be sure to follow the instructions for the position of the pressure switch on the pipe.

They are very easy to install. It took me about 2 hours for each one, including running an electrical line for the outlet. Use the mounting bracket on the motor. I built a brace to go between two rafters, then mounted the motor to the brace. The clamps isolate vibrations and this motor is very quiet. I cannot hear the motor running even when listening through the floor directly above the motor.

I was concerned about the operation of the pressure switch at 9000 feet, but it works perfectly at our mountain home.

The drying time is almost half what it used to be. This is a great solution at a great price.

Had a 35 foot duct run with a couple of bends and being the duct run went across our basement I forever fought moisture and lint build up. Went ahead and changed out all the duct work (could not get it clean) and installed a lint trap. Unit is small enough to fit between my floor joist and was simple to install. I was concerned about noise being it was under our family room but we don't know it is on. Did not do an accurate test on of drying time but just with the added air flow coming out of the vent it has to be improving the effeciency of the dryer. My wife has given her stamp of approval.

The included directions state where the recommended place for installing the dryer booster. If I remember correctly they state if close to the dryer you may need to install a secondary lint trap. Works great! I have a 18 foot run with 8 elbows, my drying time is cut in half. The only problem that I have is the booster creates a vacuum when turned on, so the unit will cycle off and on during a drying cycle after the two minute delay, yet still works great. I have not messed with diaphragm placement to get better results. Great buy.

The fan can be installed anywhere in the line, but you should use a lint trap (part DBLT4) if the fan is within 15 feet of the dryer. When the fan and dryer are this close together, the fan may pull lint from the dryer.

Yes get the lint trap, I was amazed how much it picks up from a 5 year ole whirlpool Neptune high end dryer. I would attempt to clean out the existing piping as much as you can as well. The amount of fuzz that came out of mine was a lot more than i thought. I have the DBF4XL fan and am happy. It is nearly silent.
