Solid pump

By Pooh

from Tennessee

Comments about MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V):

WE have a lot of elevation change on the farm, with the house roughly 100' above the shop. So the well pressure is set to that desired at the shop, and this boost pump is in the house to bring that pressure up without over pressurizing the pipes in the shop. But just as important as the pump itself is the service provided by SupplyHouse. One pump seal failed after a few months of service - stuff happens. SupplyHouse shipped a new one the same day I called, I kept the leaky one in service until the new one arrived, and then shipped that back to them. All with one easy phone call and no charge for anything. I WILL use SupplyHouse again.

Comments about MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V):

I bought this to replace one like it that I had used continuously for 14 years. It was easy to disconnect the old one and put the new in its place. This is the best pressure system for household water that I have ever had. The stainless pump does not make my water rusty as so many others do. It is quiet, dependable, effecient, trouble-free, and gives m ethe pressure I want.

What a difference a pump makes!!

By JJ

from Pennsylvania

Verified Buyer

Comments about MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V):

This pump delivered exactly as described. After many years of 15 lbs. of city water pressure it is great to have 50+ lbs. Installation was easy and the only problem was the need to retape the threaded fitting on the suction line. The pump runs quiet and I used pex tubing on the inlet and outlet to help with any vibration noise. I have the pump on line for about 2 weeks now and I am very pleased with it.

Not the same pump

By P. Collins

from Rochester, NY

Verified Buyer

Comments about MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V):

The pump does boost the water pressure. The pump is easy to install. The pump is very quite. The pump IS NOT able to be regulated as far as I can find out. Tried support and have not heard back in a week. Pump comes on at 35 psi and shuts off at 85 psi so at first you will get a dip in pressure until it turns back on then it pumps to 85 even if you shut it off early. My first pump worked flawlessly just did not last as long as I had hoped. 6 years of residential use.

Good booster pump

By alice

from New Jersey

Verified Buyer

Comments about MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V):

This is being used as a booster pump on my city water. My home reaches the required water pressure once during the day, so my town refuses to give me a pump. This meets my needs. This is my third Grundfos pump. I know that there are replacement parts that can be purchased for this pump, so perhaps I could repair the previous pumps which I still have. The problem is that I have no way of knowing which parts would need to be replaced since I have not been able to find any troubleshooting information that would be helpful for me. I would like to see Grundfos offer information for pump repair and not just to continue to require that I purchase new pumps. My last pump was good for 9 years. I would expect more out of a pump than that, but many people had a lot less years of service from their pumps. PexSupply was awesome with their pricing and shipping. I received my pump very quickly and the pump was well protected and did not show any damage in the shipping process. I would shop with PexSupply again in the future.

Simple to install - fittings mis-sized

By Dan

from Durham, NC

Verified Buyer

Comments about MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V):

Easy to install, very solidly built, quiet. Functions as advertised. However the plastic 3/4" NPT fittings were small, and it was very difficult to get them to seal. It took 2 sets of PVC valves and a lot of pipe dope to stop the leaks. Should have a union on both the inlet and outlet. Had to cut the pipe to get pump out to reseal the connections.

  • MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V)

    Q:

Will this pump work for domestic use on a spring-fed, 2.5 bath, 3-story home(including the basement)? Spring is roughly the same elevation as the main floor, and about 60' from the house. Pump will be located in the basement.
    Asked on 12/1/2015 by Josh

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The MQ3-35 will provide a boost of approximately 48 psi of water pressure at the discharge of the pump. This may not be enough pressure for the home.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

A standard residential system will have a system pressure of about 60psi. Every system is different. The Max pressure for this unit is 109 psi.

    • A:

These pumps have fixed uplift of approx. 45lbs. You can put a pressure reduction valve on the input side to control input pressure. You can also put one on the output side but back pressure may be an issue. In put side is easy and put a pressure gauge on out put side. Pressure gauge 10.00 and reduction valve will run from 70.00 to 110.00 at Home Depot depending on 3/4 or 1" size.

  • MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V)

    Q:

I’m on town water supply but at the very end of the line with very low water pressure and the supply volume is 45 gal/hr. Would the supply volume be enough for the Grundfos MQ3-35/115v pump to work or would I need a reservoir tank for the pump to draw from?
Asked on 7/12/2012 by Grant from Lake Cowichan BC Canada

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The MQ has a Maximum inlet pressure of about 40psi. It is recommended to put a pressure reducing valve before the pump so that the pump is always working off of the same incoming pressure. It is also recommended to set the Pressure Reducing Valve at about 25psi - 30psi. As for the flow rate, it sounds like you may want to put a tank in. That pump will move close to 11gpm - 16gpm. That supply would not keep up with the MQ.

  • MQ3-35 Pressure Boosting Pump (115V)

    Q:

What is the minimum water supply required to the intake of the MQ3-35/110 volt so it can work without cavitations
Asked on 7/11/2012 by Grant from Lake Cowichan BC Canada

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Provided that you are not at high altitude, the MQ3-45 is capable of pulling water from the MAXIMUM vertical lift of 26 feet. Obviously, you would want to be less than that for normal operation. This is assuming that the pump is primed, i.e., filled with water as described in the manual. Cavitation is not related to this. If the inlet pipe is the same diameter as the inlet to the pump, cavitation should not be a problem.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:
