why cant it be used with LP Gas?

Hercules does not recommend its use with LP gas because of a potential of LP gas to degrade the product in time.

Pro dope or thread sealant will work on metallic and non metallic threads in a plumbing loop. Your question is a little vagu I don't know how and where you want to use the dope. The dope must be sealing threaded connections.
