Vent the mains fast and the radiators slow. These are slow. Used 30 plus this year. Vents are a consumable part.

Home radiator old air valve wore out and hissed loudly. This replacement valve took less than 5 minutes to install and problem solved! Works fantastic.

i had a radiator that was spittng water through the vent, it was closest to the boiler, i went through 3 diff kinds of valves, including mist-o-maid, none of them helped, this valve will just shut off if the water comes on and no spitting of water anymore. love it. it hisses, not too loud, overall very satisfied

We have tried several steam venting solutions, including all new Vari-Vents (from PexSupply) which also worked well. This non-variable vent (new vents again) better compliments the dimensioning of our steam system by providing more consistant steam heat to all radiators in balanced approach and continue to work with some moisture at the valve.

Vents appear to be a "consumable" item in a steam system, yearly monitoring for a vent failure mode needs to be part of the system maintenance program.

I was able to balance my two runs and bring steam to all my radiators, I used number 40's on my short run and quick vent number 1's on my long run. It took me a month to get the steam to all the radiators at once. I had to double vent one problem radiator. The product works as it should.

This can be caused by a number of factors from improperly graded lines (they should all tilt toward the boiler eventually) to too-fast venting. Dan Holohan's The Lost Art of Steam Heating is a must-have book for single-pipe steam homeowners.

Bleeding air out of the system can resolve this issue.

Hi, I am looking for 1 of these, but I am not sure if this would work on my radiator. The air valve that I have on mine is a Dole 1A. The problem that I am having is that only 4 of the 12 fins heat up. I was told that there is most likely water in my radiator. So I took out the radiator and emptied what was probably 8 to 10 ounces of water and still the radiator does not heat up all the way. Any advice on what I can do?? Is it actually the air valve that is shot? Thank You

There could be a few issues with the steam system that could cause unheated radiator issues. You have to make sure that all the boiler piping is pitched back towards the boiler. You have to also make sure that your boiler is big enough for all the radiators in the system. If the boiler is to small they you will not get steam to all the radiators.
