Figured that replacing a leaking tank myself would be cheaper in the long run (than having my local HVAC contractor replace the tank for free...but then add on numerous services charges!), I selected Pexsupply.com for my purchase of a new Honeywell HM512 water tank.

The only problem was that Honywell mislabelled the original box, and I received a smaller tank for an HM506.

Nicole at Pexsupply.com customer service was more than helpful in searching inventory for the correctly sized HM512 tank, and got me the new one as soon as she could. Even then, the new tank was still missing the sediment screen, so Nicole expedited out a new screen to me ASAP.

My humidifier is back together and working as intended.

A big thanks to Nicole and her staff for going the extra mile to correct a manufacturer's mulitple errors!

THE SUPPLY HOUSE IS AWESOME! HONEYWELL TrueSTEAM products, NOT SO MUCH. After spending a bunch of money over a year or so to replace a continuing series of failures (sensors, gaskets, non-filters, solenoid valves, and a new tank) - NOW the heating element is dead, or so it seems. Amazingly, I cannot find a replacement - the "repair" manual says to replace the entire unit.
So I will - with something else other than the TrueSTEAM (not), even if it is a squirel spraying water into the plenum. And I'll buy it from the SupplyHouse.

Perfect fit, rapid delivery

Comments about Large Water Tank For TrueSTEAM (HM512 & HM509):

After 6 years of use the original water tank on my Honeywell TrueSteam HM509 humidifier cracked externally. Even though it was not leaking, I decided to purchase a new one before it did. As usual, SupplyHouse.com had the correct part in stock and delivered it extremely quickly. The original tank was light gray in color, but the new tank is a charcoal color which I prefer because the light colored original tank discolored from the heat after 6 years of use. The new tank fit perfectly and installed without a hitch.

Direct Replacement for Tank on HM512

Comments about Large Water Tank For TrueSTEAM (HM512 & HM509):

After 5 years of service, I had just replaced the gasket with one from SupplyHouse, due to leaking steam and condensation. During that repair, I discovered that the tank had a couple of hairline cracks on the top right rear area.

It wasn't leaking, but I didn't want to risk the problem developing further. I didn't use the gasket that came with the tank, since I had just replaced it with the one from SupplyHouse. I'll keep it as an available spare.

The replacement tank appears to be identical to the original, except that is is a darker gray color. I'm expecting it should give me another 5 years or so or service. I do plan to inspect the tank and the gasket carefully during my regular maintenance and cleaning.

Tank Arrived in 1 day!

Comments about Large Water Tank For TrueSTEAM (HM512 & HM509):

This is the 3rd Honeywell TrueSTEAM tank that I have used in 7 years. The previous one developed a 1 inch long hairline crack in the plastic tank about half way up the tank. This cause it to seep hot water as the crack opened up when water was heated. New tank is all black in color and I hope it holds up better than the previous Gray Tank. Supply House service was excellent.

Replacement tank

Comments about Large Water Tank For TrueSTEAM (HM512 & HM509):

I have Honeywell HM506. Original tank has been discontinued but this tank was listed as the replacement. The only problem with the install was that there is a raised "fin" on the inside back of the new tank that prevented it from being installed. I used my Dremel to remove the fin and a razor to clean off the excess and the tank fit perfectly. Delivery was fantastic and kit includes new gasket and screen. This gasket looks better than the original foam gasket I've had to replace twice in 5 years. Hope this one will last longer.

Arrived the next day. Fits snug but perfectly. Came with gasket, and sediment screen.

Yes it is plastic so it will where out over the years. Got 5 years out of the original tank before it cracked. Love how the humidifier makes the air feel in the house. Worth the maintenance.

Not sure, it looks just like the one attached to my unit. These don't last
very long, I had to replace mine because small cracks developed along with
      a water sensor.

      A:

That is correct - it is the black tank with the rubber gasket. It fits on the unit with no problem (even if you had the grey tank before).

I don't know exactly. However, I do know that this bucket fits my old (first
generation) Honeywell 12 gal humidifier. I believe the openings on all
models are the same dimensions if you are looking to put a bigger tank on a
      smaller model
