With a renovated old house with a very high central hallway ceiling and the honeywell RedLink 8000 Thermostat mounted in the hallway, the HVAC would run all the time trying to heat or cool the large volume. This was completely eliminated with 3 RedLINK Wireless Air Sensors in rooms away from the hallway. It works perfectly, with the Thermostat wirelessly computing the average temperature in three rooms (living, kitchen, bedroom) and then running until that average temp is met. The hallway will always be a bit cooler than everywhere else, but there is little variation in any of the other rooms. Works perfectly, and after only one month, it is looking that my gas heating costs could drop by 40-50%!!! Just works perfectly and solves most of a previously serious problem. With Supply House selling the units, my total cost was about $100 for 3 - and setup and installation of ALL three only took about 20 minutes! To think the HVAC company wanted $175/each installed!!!! Anyone can install these with a screwdriver and the ability to put in batteries and push the Connect button! At this rate, I should recoup the costs of the thermostat and sensors in six months. Very pleased.

Purchased to monitor crawl space temp during winter months. Deceived by pic and literature in EIM install guide. Will not simply display temp and no sense using for temperature averaging control. Per tech support, meant to be used for humidity control if using in crawl space. Again, deceived by install guide! All said, an unnecessary module for my needs.

Comments about RedLINK Enabled Wireless Indoor Air Sensor:

We used this remote sensor to register the temperature in a cooling tunnel, and relay that info to the main heat pump. Works perfectly. the price was very good, and delivery time was promised short and met. Thank you

Very easy setup. Using with TH8110R thermostat and while you can't see the individual sensors temp the display showing the averaging is correct. Haven't had an issue since the sensor was paired with the thermostat.

This was for a remote temperature sensor in a wine room to get the best reading and not run the AC more than needed. It was easy to set up the built in wireless function to work with the existing thermostat and move around the room to get to the best place.

In the 100+ degree days here in Austin no air conditioner can keep every room comfortable. I bought two sensors. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. I carry the sensor with me to my office and into the bedroom and the set temp is met. Very nice product!

I'm using this in averaging mode with a Prestige IAQ system to help compensate for one room that tends to run cooler or warmer compared to the rest of the house, used by a person with asthma who needs a more consistent environment. It works remarkably well. Adding a zone would have been overkill for one room, and the ability to select this room for humidity monitoring is useful.

The sensor status light will begin flashing red about 2–3 weeks before power is depleted. During normal operation, the status light remains off.

                                                          Q:

Want to set up temp sensors to monitor (but not take control from the thermostat) the temp in lower level and in the main return air duct.
Can this more sophisticated application be done via the Honeywell remote indoor temp sensors and Redlink?
Could those additional sensors display their readings on the thermostat in addition to the outside temp sensor?
I see something like this in the in-house video you produced showing 2 different rooms displayed on at least the smart phone app.
Detailed information is very hard to come by beyond the basic set up. How can I locate a power user?

No. These sensors do not display individual temperatures. They are used in
multiple locations to create the average temperature of a space.

I've had them work through 3 vertical floors, though the floors were of
wood construction. The RedLink protocol is proprietary, and I haven't had
any luck finding out what it's based on. I also haven't had any issues
transmitting through exterior walls with the outdoor temperature sensor.
Note that this unit is not waterproof, so it should only be used indoors.
