Comments about Threaded 1/2 in. Pressure Regulating Valve with single-union, threaded tailpiece:

I purchased a second union for my application. I use this for a drip irrigation system for 30 hanging baskets on my porches. I it works great, allowing me to use misters and adjust pressure as needed.

I applied the valve to a Steam Shower to lower the pressure. It was the easiest way to do the job.

No, it will only reduce the incoming pressure.

It is not made to increase but decrease pressure. I used it for a steam bath machine, it needs a certain pressure to work properly and my house pressure was to high. There are a few things you can do to increase pressure but it depends on what you have in your house. If filters are used you might need to change them more often or if a well is being used and you have a holding tank, increase the pressure on the gauge to 60 lbs. Other ways are to increase the size of your piping to 3/4' all around the house put that is a major project.

                  A:

No, the Pressure Regulating Valve only allows a maximum PSI output to the domestic water system per the level determined by the setting that you select. Assuming the input and output pipes are of the same diameter, the maximum pressure outputted from the valve will never exceed the pressure level that is coming into the valve.
Resolving low water pressure issues typically requires either a new solution at your water source, such as a stronger pump and/or larger pipe for well systems or possibly a larger diameter feed pipe for public water systems. Aside from these options, the only real solution for low water pressure is a more complex configuration of a booster pump with an attached tank. In this option, the pump applies additional pressure to water that is temporarily stored in the tank which is then outputted to the domestic water system. This application would also have its own limitations in that the higher pressure for each usage cycle would only last as long as the pump & tank are able to provide enough water volume to maintain the increased pressure.

                  A:

No. Regulators lower pressure. If you already have a regulator in your house it may no longer be working properly. If that is the case then replacing it may help.
If you do not have a faulty regulator then you need to install a booster pump to increase your house pressure.

This valve is only designed to decrease pressure. You may want to consider a pressure-boosting pump.
