Comments about Media Air Cleaner - 16" x 25" (1400 cfm):

I installed the Media Air Cleaner on a recently installed replacement furnace. Fairly easy install, although I needed to modify the return air ductwork because of the width. It has a easy to open door that has a foam gasket. The replacement filters are readily available.

Solid Unit

By Georgio Caparella

Comments about Media Air Cleaner - 16" x 25" (1400 cfm):

I installed this myself after moving into our new house this past winter. The previous furnace required a funky filter size, which the previous owners didn't even bother with replacing with the right size. I installed this inline with the return, taped all the seams to the old ductwork, and it's worked flawlessly. This took about 3-4 hours, but I was being extra careful since it was my first real time working with HVAC sheetmetal.

My only complaint is that the access door can be a little difficult to remove, but it's not too bad.

Also, it would be nice to see all of these units come with a simple liquid manometer to determine when the filter needs to be changed. (I believe this is a filter-specific specification, but a simple liquid manometer would suffice for any filter installed.) As it is, I'm going to retrofit a radon mitigation manometer into the ductwork to keep an eye it.

If you have alergies, you need this!

By maxivolt

Comments about Media Air Cleaner - 16" x 20" (1200 cfm):

Installs in return air duct next to blower. I easily installed it (I am an electrician, although no power is required for this model). No chance of any dirt pulled into the unit by a leaking return aid duct. The best and expensive return air grill filters cannot do what this unit can do. All air passes through the air cleaner and the filter picks up the dirt.
You should also clean and sanatize the plenum, the ducts, the duct boxes and vents. I hired a company that specalizes in this work.
You will breathe better and notice less dust on the furniture.
Everything about the unit is great; just make sure you purchase the correct size so you do not restrict the air flow.

Comments about Media Air Cleaner - 25" x 20" (2000 cfm):

I have three systems in my home. I had filter grills for the return's. I removed the filter grills and replaced them with a return grill without filters. I installed the Honeywell media air whole house air cleaner on each system. They not only reduced the static pressure the system's are so quit now it's hard to hear if the unit is running or not.The house stays cleaner and better yet it has reduced my electric bill.

  • Media Air Cleaner - 25" x 20" (2000 cfm)

    Q:

The first measurement is the height of the filter / door ? Going to install laying on side under a 24.5 w x 21 d air handler vertical application.

      A:

The first measurement should be the "height" the filter, I suppose it
depends on how you look at it. Supply House provides the link to the "User
Guide" on the "Overview" tab. The User Guide provides all the dimensions of
      the unit.

    Q:

How often do these filters have to be replaced?
    Asked on 6/10/2011 by sherry

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

You will need to replace the filters at least once a year. The manufacturer recommends that you do it every 6 months (once before heating season and once before cooling season). If you are using an atomizing humidifier, you may need to replace the filters more often.
