I have static pressure issues with my AC. The pressure is okay with the very cheap fiberglass filters with good airflow properties, but whenever I tried to use a pleated filter the pressure in the AC got too high. This media filter not only filters much better than the fiberglass, it has the same air resistance. So I have the same static pressure using this filter as the fiberglass one. When you consider this filter can last a year, it is not that much more expansive than fiberglass, either. Finally, AC companies quoted me $500 to install a media filter in the attic at the junction of the return duct and the AC unit. So using this filter saves me $500. I am very happy with it.

This product came in the factory package with a small amount of exterior damage. I found 2 of the items damaged (ends crushed in). I am not sure if it was damaged in shipment or shipped that way.

The product works as you would expect it to. It does not catch the very fine dust.

Comments about 20" x 25" Return Grill Media Air Filter:

Fit perfectly. Nice to now have a media filter and do not need to climb into the attic to change. Plus our HVAC wanted $800 per media filter box installed. The material is very stiff and sturdy. Received the updated 3" filter which means is 30% thinner but it also has 30% more pleats. Will definitely buy more!

This wonderful product helps with my seasonal allergies and keeps the house cleaner from dust. My Air Conditioning man recommended that I order it, and I've never had a reason to change. I change my filter every year and won't use any other product.

I've been buying this product for years

Comments about 20" x 20" Return Grill Media Air Filter:

This filter works great for our condo. Return vent is very high and not easy to change. With this filter, we only change every 6 to 7 months (not monthly like most filters). It also is better for the HVAC system because it does not restrict air flow like some of them do.

Great to deal with SupplyHouse, as always...

Comments about 20" x 20" Return Grill Media Air Filter:

The filters were shipped in a box the same height and width as the filters, with the extra depth filled with inflatable packing bladders. The box went through the normal handling during transit, which meant even the smallest squeeze on the box was going to crush the edges of the filters, especially the important part (the filter flange which locates in the standard 1 inch filter opening). The flange was mangled enough that it wasn't going to properly locate or seal the filter, so no good. I called customer service and they sent out a duplicate order at no charge, which should be here tomorrow. Hopefully packed with a little more intelligence. Great customer service, as always.

I did put one of the mangled filters in place to test, with some duct tape to locate and seal to the filter housing, and it seems to be much lower pressure drop than the standard Red 1 inch filters. They don't visibly distort under suction either, which is a good informal reference for pressure drop. This also means they're quieter with less airflow hiss, which is nice too. We'll see how well they filter and how long they last. I can't believe I've never discovered this type of adapter filter until now.

Smaller design and not as sturdy. When shipped the four ordered were not packed in a sturdy carton and it appeared they were crushed during shipment.

ONLY thing I can say negative about these is that they don't last as long as originally stated. House air is recognizably different after a change....especially if it's been more than 4 months. Price is good.

It depends on how much you run your system. I usually replace a 1" every month and the 4" every 4 months. I also have been known to use the crevice tool attachment on my electolux to clean these and extend the life of the filter.
