Why does it say heating only? Can i use this to regulate my domestic hot water output from hot water tank that is heated via my wood boiler system?

                        A:

We would not recommend it. This valve is not lead-free, it is not approved for use with potable water, and it does not meet the precision and safety standards that you would want to prevent scalding.

Because the internal components of a heating only unit cannot be used for a domestic water system.

Does orientation matter or can this unit be installed with adjustment knob on the side instead of top as shown?
