balanced old house

Comments about Thermostatic Radiator Actuator w/ Integral Sensor:

this product works great. my old house is unevenly insulated so depending on the weather I would have to go around and constantly mess with the valves trying to balance the rooms that were too hot or too cold. Now it is so much better.

Works great, but no vacuum breaker

Comments about Thermostatic Radiator Actuator w/ Integral Sensor:

It took just a few minutes to upgrade the one-pipe steam radiator in my living room to one that I can actually control the temperature of using this thermostatic valve and the thermostatic actuator that goes with it. I did need to tigten it a few times to ensure it didn't drip when the steam was on.

I am in a rental apartment, so I do not have control over when our building's radiators come on or how strong the heat comes on. This product keeps our living room from overheating, and the room is generally more comfortable than before - especially when the heat comes on late in the day. I'm sure our landlord could save a lot just by asking tenants if they have any rooms that get too warm, and installing these valves in those rooms.

The one problem with the honeywell thermostatic setup is that it does not have a vacuum breaker. This means that under some circumstances the radiator actually gets tricked into overheating when the valve is in the off position. This has only happened once or twice - and probably wouldn't ever happen if my landlord had the building's thermostat set properly instead of allowing for big temperature swings in the building by trying to save money by only turning the steam on a few times each day.

Comments about Thermostatic Radiator Actuator w/ Integral Sensor:

My family back in the UK could not get imperial measurement version as everything there is metric now. This was a replica of the exact same from the 1980's when they had their heating replaced, we could not find it elsewhere. Shipped quickly, reasonably-priced, very difficult to find. Family back home is warm again, my Christmas present to them. Thanks PexSupply.com. 10/10.

The actuator will adjust the temp, but they will only help if over heating is the issue it will not increase the amount of heat.

    Q:

How can I determine if this product will fit my radiator?
    Asked on 5/6/2014 by Don

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This actuator is designed to fit select Honeywell radiator valves, including V100 and V2000 models. If the connections on any of these valves would be compatible with those on your radiator, you should be able to use this actuator.

Neither, it is a non-electric temperature actuated operator.
