Description for Honeywell Braukmann T104A1040

Provide precise and automatic control of room temperature in two-pipe systems by modulating the flow of hot water or steam through free-standing radiators, convectors and other heating units with high capacity requirements.

Use T100 thermostatic actuators with V100 valve bodies, T104 thermostat actuators with V110 valve bodies.

Features:

  • Valves and actuators meet ASHRAE Standard 102-1989
  • For control of hot water or steam radiators, convectors or other hydronic heating units
  • Thermostatic actuator setpoint dial shows guide marks (1-5) and provides positive shutoff when turned fully clockwise (0)
  • Thermostatic actuator includes sensor and setpoint dial; components may be integral or connected by capillary tubes
  • Valve seat disc, made of resilient EPDM, ensures tight shutoff on hot water or low pressure steam systems
  • Nickel-plated brass cast valve body with working parts in cartridge insert for ease of service
  • No electrical connections or wiring required
  • All working parts replaceable while valve remains in service, in-line, under pressure
  • T104/V110 designed to meet higher capacity normally required of North American radiator systems — over twice the flow capacity of most competitive valves
  • Ratings: maximum temperature - 248°F; maximum system PSI - 150 PSI (hot water); 14 PSI (steam V100 series), 15 PSI (steam V110 series); maximum differential - 17 PSI

Steam radiator thermostat review

By Silthomas

Comments about High Capacity Thermostatic Radiator Actuator - integral sensor:

Saw this technique on This Old House. We have steam radiators and main bedroom is directly above the steam furnace. Up until installing this product, bedroom would get uncomfortably hot while rest of house barely heated up. Installation was easy. Thermostat instuctions for setting adjustment can be a little more discriptive, but not rocket science. After installing product, room remains at a comfortable temperature and excess steam is directed to rest of house. Product works as described.

SupplyHouse.com - one of THE BEST call up customer service! My package was delivered the next day(no extra charge) and I received an email checking on my satisfaction after delivery. I did order the wrong thermostat and SupplyHouse made my return hassle free. I'm definitely using this company for future plumbing needs.

Exceeded Expectations

Comments about High Capacity Thermostatic Radiator Actuator - integral sensor:

Had Honeywell V110D1008 valve and T104A1040 Thermostatic Radiator Actuator installed on a 3rd-floor radiator that was Bogarting the heat in my 1888 Victorian. Products arrived earlier than expected, are of high quality, and fit perfectly by swapping out existing fitting. Now the heat goes to that radiator first as always, then shuts down when it reaches desired temp, allowing heat to race to the rest of the house. Should have done this years ago!

I am buying this product again

Comments about High Capacity Thermostatic Radiator Actuator - integral sensor:

This product functions as advistised! However, I do have several negative issues:
1. The installation instructions are printed so small it's almost impossible to read. For most of us, it will be necessary to get an enlarged copy.
2. The installation instructions are out-dated. The adjustment knob removal differs from the instructions.
3. The temperature setting maybe easily adjusted from off to 68 degrees. But, an internal adjustment is necessary if a higher temperature limit is desired.
I don't understand why this is necessary.

Comments about High Capacity Thermostatic Radiator Actuator - integral sensor:

This thermostatic radiator sensor functions as advertised. But, I do have several negative comments:
1. The instructions that came with this item are printed so small, its next to impossible to read without enlarging.
2. The instructions are not up-to-date. The adjustments knob removal differs from the instructions. In addition, they are not clear in the explaination.
3. The temperature range can be easily changed from off to 68 degrees. But, to increase any higher requires internal adjustment. Why? Why, is this necessary???

I have a 1920's home with a two pipe steam system. By using HB valves and thermostats I have a 19 zone heating system! Very efficient!
