Hope it works as advertised!

Comments about T4398 Electric Heat Thermostat, w/ Thermometer:

I can't rate this thermostat as it has not yet been installed. The use is very specialized since I have to control 4 10 KW circuits using infrared radiant tubes with one thermostat for each circuit. I have only bought one thermostat to try in one circuit and this will carry very low power to energize a high amp contactor to actually power the 10 KW of radiant heat tubes. If it is as sensitive as advertized, I'll be happy!!

Still going after 8 years!

Comments about T4398 Electric Heat Thermostat, w/ Thermometer:

I bought my first one in 2002 and its still going strong. It is truly the best line voltage mechanical thermostat available. It is very accurate and sensitive, which has eliminated the "on too long, off too long" that I have found with traditional bi-metal thermostats.

Meets expectations for great price

Comments about T4398 Electric Heat Thermostat, w/ Thermometer:

I replaced 8 original baseboard thermostats with the Honeywell T4398. The units hold temparature within a few degrees. All came out of box well calibrated. Much more economical than digital units.

    Q:

I am wanting to Replace the old Honeywell T462A or B 22amp stats in our house and upon removing the cover I have two (hot) black wire connected to the current stat and the (Neutral) white wire are wired together. Would this one work or is there a better stat that I can use.

This will work. It has good instructions. One of your black wires comes from the breaker/fuse and the other one goes to the heater. Just hook them up like they are hooked up on the current thermostat.

Should be fine. You just have to make sure that one pair is coming in, and
one pair is going out to the electric heater. I replaced all of them in my
house with these. They are working great.

It has two wires: one incoming line power wire from the breaker and one outgoing load power wire to the unit.
