Good Thermostat

By kenmic

Comments about FocusPro Non-Programmable, 1H/1C, Large Display Thermostat:

1.Easy to see and easy to change temp.

2.you do need to know a few things about heating to set the installation and for set up. exp. how many transformers you have , transformer voltage. cph cycles etc.

3.the temp differential is + - 1 degree and you can NOT change that....i was confused on this i thought you would be able to adjust that.

4.intruction manual a little confusing (but arent they all) you have to know what your thermostat
part number is and watch the shaded area of the manual to make sure it has to do with your part number.

5. easy to wire, easy to install batteries.

6. does make a strange clicking noise when when the thermostat turns a/c on.. strange for a solid state device right now i do not think it is too loud and i do not think it will bug me.

7. shipping was great, i order item late afternoon got a email back same day saying item is shipping and the item shipped out next day..

Best stat on the market

Comments about FocusPro Non-Programmable, 1H/1C, Large Display Thermostat:

I would highly recommend hard wiring this and any other stat over using batteries. I have seen battery operated one stick on when the batteries get weak and house get to 80+ degrees. I have never had a warranty return on this stat and I put on @ 15 a year. Easy to use my customers really seem to like them.

    Q:

I'm getting a dual fuel system. Will this work on it. Thanks
    Asked on 7/11/2012 by Shaggy

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Whether it is a dual fuel heatpump or a dual fuel furnace, a TH5110D will not work. You can use a TH5220D for this. If you have a dual fuel heatpump and want options for more control over it you can use the TH9421C or Prestige models. They have options to cater to dual fuel systems.

    Q:

My present thermostat is an old (42 yrs) Honeywell, and want to
replace it with a anon-programmable unit. My present thermostat
only has 2 wires; red and white. Would this unit hook up the same ??
    R. Kelch
Asked on 6/1/2012 by Ralph from Franklin, Pa

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

According to the manufacturer, the replacement for this thermostat sounds like it may be a low voltage thermostat for heating only system, given the age of the application. If you could verify the voltage requirements for the system and if it is a heating only application then they can make an accurate suggestion for replacement.
They hesitate to advise based on colors of wire. An 18 gauge wire would work for the application regardless of what color is wrapped around the wires. If you could advise on this they would be glad to make a suggestion. The TH5110D1022 may work but you should contact the manufacturer to confirm.
