        Simple to install and program

The simplicity of this product is what caught my attention. I was initially hesitant to do work on a 240V outlet but this Tstat was extremely easy to wire and program. The simplicity, unfortunately also refers to its capabilities. For instance, there are only 3 preset temperatures. If the tstat reads 70* then it will turn off the heater. It is impossible to set it higher. If you desire more flexibility I would look to a different thermostat at a higher price point.

              Install instructions are a joke

This is the entire wiring directions extracted out of the install instruction manual.

Connect the power and heater wires to the corresponding wires of the power base.

Used to replace an older manual dial thermostat to control 2 Cadet register style fan forced electric heaters (2,000 watts each at 240 V). Works great. This unit says it is a single pole model, but it has 4 wires, like the 4 pole model TL8230A1003 (3600 watt, 240V)that I bought for my other Cadet heaters (that didn't need the full 4,000 watt rating). My only complaint is that the instructions don't mention a two wire hookup like the old one used. Fortunately, both hot wires and both load wires were available inside the box, so I was able to connect both line (hot) wires and both load wires (to the heaters)as shown in the instructions. These are quality units that have Much better heat control than the old units, and are programmable. Was sent the Canadian versions, but probably no difference from the US other than the labeling.

The thermostat is extremely easy to install. We replaced all ten thermostats in our all electric condo. They are easy to program and very accurate. I recommend them highly.

Replaced all the 25 year old line voltage electric heat thermostats. I like seeing the timw and temperature on each thermostat. Also, the three push button settings are very convenient.

This thermostat is 7-day programmable, meaning that you must use the same program for each of the seven days of the week. 5-2 models allow a unique program for Saturday and Sunday, but we are unaware of anything that would change on Friday also.
