      A:

Yes, The letters WOG printed on the handle stands for Water,Oil,Gas so your good. Its also rated for 175 PSI if you were going to use it for compressed air.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

In general this type (brass ball) valve can be used. Most manufacturers will rate their product as WOG (water / oil / gas). 3/4: Pressure rating is 'generally' 600 - 750 psi, depending on style and material. Some providers list as having a blow-out proof stem. (w/ often dual Viton seals). IF using in and around other systems (water or oil) TAG or (preferably) PAINT (or rubber dip) the handle BLUE. Do NOT use Teflon tape. USE Teflon (or other )LIQUID - type pipe sealant.
IF you gotta get something up and running (short term) this would be suitable for a connection for residential use. Check your building codes and/or local ordinances to be sure.

  • 3/4" Full Port Threaded Ball Valve

    Q:

I'm confused about IPS vs NPT threads. Can I connect this (IPS) threaded ball valve to the DS05C1055 (NPT) threaded pressure regulator using a tapered brass nipple?
    Asked on 6/1/2011 by Anonymous

    • A:

Sorry just checked w/ manufacturer and they said their ISP designation IS compatible with NPT
So now I am confused too!

Answered on 1/8/2014 by Heavy D from NYC
    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

IPS and NPT threads are both tapered. You can connect the DS05C1055 valve to the 3/4" ball valve with part TBN-12CLOSE.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Yes, IPS, stands for, iron pipe size, NPT, stands for, national pipe thread, it's one and the same. The only time it wouldn't work, would be, if you had something marked with metric threads.

      A:

Iron Pipe Size. It's used to determine the diameter of black iron pipe. It's not straight pipe.
