Durable check valve.

Comments about 3/4" Threaded Spring Loaded Check Valve:

I was uncomfortable with plastic check valves as the boiler water temperature approached 206F occasionally on a recirculating domestic hot water circuit. I reduced the spring tension on them to limit the differential pressure. Appears well built.

Comments about 2" Threaded Spring Loaded Check Valve:

I used this check valve between an irrigation filter and 2 hp irrigation pump. It sits next to the filter on the hose that leads to the pump. This has worked well and prevents back flow.

will this work with a garden hose configuration to prevent back flow into the pump.

This product has female iron pipe size thread not hose bib threads. you
can use 3/4" IPT to 3/4 hose bib thread adapter to make it work.

My comments are not code based, nor legal based ... however, If you use this
check valve for a garden hose set up and its being pumped from a drinking
water supply, and you are using the hose to spray something that has a
chemical in it such as fertilizer, I'd suggest that you install 2 of these
check valves about 2"-6" apart, and you locate them in a place that is not
subject to being moved as the garden hose would be. (mount them very close
to the water outlet, and fix them to a stake or pipe) While there are
springs in the checks, bumping the hose around could allow them to open
      briefly.

I bought two of theses about a year ago. I did not see any adjustment to the spring. Our house pressure runs 35-40 pounds and I have never had a problem with flow.

  • 1-1/4" Threaded Spring Loaded Check Valve

    Q:

    1. Will this valve work in a vertical position with the flow going down?

What is the "crack Pressure" of the spring?
Asked on 9/23/2012 by Scott from Grand Rapids, MI

    6 answers

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Yes, it will work in the vertical with flow going down or up.
The crack pressure is low. It's really just enough to prevent convective
(ghost) flow. It's not a very strong spring. I don't know an exact
      opening pressure rating.

    Q:

Will this check valve work with 1/2" PEX x 1/2" NPT Brass Female Adapter SKU: H040500? I bought these pieces an they have a really loose fit. Don't seem to tighten up with a lot of teflon tape.

      A:

You'll need to use an adapter that has male threads with the SLSC050T check valve (part H030500, for example). H040500 has female threads.

I am currently using a swing gate style, on the cold supply to the hot water heater. The gate "bangs" and is extremely noisy in the house. I would like to use this to replace the swing gate? I suspect it would be much quiter then a swing style

The spring-loaded valve will definitely make less noise, but it may still be audible on occasion.

  • 1/2" Threaded Spring Loaded Check Valve

    Q:

Which check valves would more greatly reduce water flow, 1/2" spring loaded check valve, or a 1/2" swing check valve? I am building a prototype for a machine, and need a check valve that will effectively prevent back flow, but not one that will significantly reduce water pressure coming out of the valve. The water flow in this case will be flowing vertically. Thanks!
    Asked on 10/15/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The spring check valve would probably reduce flow by a lesser amount. Additionally, you would need to use a spring check valve with vertical water flow.
