Description for ICM Controls ICM491

Features

  • Low cost single phase motor protection
  • Built in anti-short cycle protection
  • Detects high/low voltage conditions
  • Helps prevent rapid system recycling
  • LED indicators:
    • Green for normal conditions
    • Red for fault
  • Heavy duty SPDT, isolated relay output
  • Interrogation delay prevents nuisance trips: 5 seconds

Mode of Operation - Designed in a small, easy-to-mount case, the ICM491 continuously monitors incoming line voltage for errors. When line power is appropriate, the ICM491 closes a set of N.O. contacts and lights a green LED. When incoming power is outside of user selected parameters, the N.C. contacts will close and a red LED will illuminate, indicating current fault conditions. This unit also interrogates the line during fault conditions to reduce nuisance trips from transients or compressor start ups.

Comments about ICM491 Single Phase Motor Protection, 95-270 VAC:

The original undervoltage product was switching back and forth turning off the compressor. I would switch between the NO and NC contact to get the compressor running again. I purchased a new ICM491 Single Phase Motor Protection, 95-270 VAC and installed it exactly as the original product was wired. It was doing exactly the same thing the previous one was doing.

Comments about ICM491 Single Phase Motor Protection, 95-270 VAC:

I used this device to monitor power from a portable generator feeding a manual transfer switch in a residential application. Control circuit is connected to a contactor that disconnects load from generator if over/under voltage occurs. It would be nice if the anti-short cyle delay was adjustable, but device is a great value compared to fully adjustable industrial relays costing 3 times the price.
