          is this suitable for hose-in-hose applications? (can the hose going into the compression end go all the way through?)

            No. It will not work. The hole that passes through the main body is
            smaller in diameter than the hole on the compression end where your
            tubing/hose enters.

            yes the hose CAN go through all the way but this particular fitting has NPT threads on one end which would need to be threaded into piping...if you want hose by hose connection you would want to go with a compression by compression fitting and NOT a compression by NPT
