LG Mini-Split, Duct-Free Air Conditioning Installation & Warranty Info

We recommend the installation of all LG Ductless Split Systems to be done by a licensed, trained & qualified HVAC technician with the proper knowledge and background. A trained technician will be able to judge the best location for the air handling (evaporator) unit and also the correct size for the area it has to cool.

Should you experience an issue during the installation or the initial startup of the unit please do not contact the manufacturer. You should have the technician that installed the units contact us or the manufacturer. LG cannot accept any service or warranty calls from anybody but a licensed HVAC technician. We have a full technical support team available to help you throughout the installation process should the need arise.

Neither we or LG Electronics U.S.A. can be held liable for improper installation and operation of any LG air conditioning product purchased from our company. Should a warranty issue arise where parts will need to be replaced, an installation receipt will be required along with your sales receipt. Failure to provide a receipt or invoice may result in the warranty not being honored.

Note: Warranties on mini split air conditioners only include parts and do not include labor. The licensed HVAC Technician who installs your air conditioner should always provide you with a labor warranty (preferably for a full year to compliment the manufacturers' parts warranty).

Very Quiet/Smooth Install

Comments about 17,000 BTU Dual Zone Multi-Split Air Conditioner/Heat Pump - Outdoor Unit:

Great unit for a first minis split install. The unit is lighter than I thought it would be. In my younger days, I could have lifted myself but wise enough now to ask for help. The unit is very quiet, I mean super quiet compared to traditional a/c units. Some helpful hints. Before you buy, make sure you know how to install this yourself as getting a pro to do it may be hard. All of the pros in my area wanted nothing to do with installing it since they did not provide it. According to LG, installing yourself will void the warranty but the money I saved was worth the risk. I had to get Section 608 certified and purchase the install equipment from online. If you are doing this yourself, be advised that mini split service valves do not operate like traditional a/c service valves. Read up about the difference. When doing the vacuum evacuation on the line sets, make sure you use copper pipe or special hoses with your manifold gauges. Regular hoses will leak air into the vacuum making it hard to get to the required 500 microns.

Super Quiet & We love it

Comments about 17,000 BTU Dual Zone Multi-Split Air Conditioner/Heat Pump - Outdoor Unit:

We just purchased our new home in Southwest Florida in March. With the hot and humid summers down here, we learned our home system could not keep up and cool our master bedroom and my home office effectively. So I had (2) 9000 BTU (LSN090HSV4) wall units installed, 1 for the bedroom and 1 for my office. It's so nice to have them both hook up to 1 outside unit instead of 2. The system works great and my wife loves the cold air for sleeping. The outdoor unit (LMU18CHV) is so quiet, you don't even hear it running. Over all we are very pleased with our new system.

So far so good!

Comments about 18,000 BTU Dual Zone Multi-Split Air Conditioner/Heat Pump - Outdoor Unit:

Purchased this unit for the church office. We were heating the office with a old propane furnace and cooling with window A/C units. I'm expecting this unit will pay for itself in 2-3 years. The coldest it's been here in NY is ~20 degrees, but so far the unit been keeping up with the heat load just fine. I'm guessing come Jan/Feb we will need to fire up some supplement heat to keep the office warm. It would be nice if the remote had more programming capability. In order to due auto setbacks you need to buy the LG specific tstat for the unit. We did not do that yet.

Does this unit manages 18k BTU per zone or as a total?
Asked on 7/19/2013 by Aaron from United States

      It manages 18,000 BTUs total.

Answered on 7/19/2013 by PexSupply Staff from NY

The listed figures are a total. The unit can run with multiple indoor units exceeding the total outdoor unit ouput, however the indoor units would function at diminished capacity.
