A trained technician will be able to judge the best location for the air handling (evaporator) unit and also the correct size for the area it has to cool.

          Q:

We have two LMN120HE wall units. Will the LMU247HV outdoor unit work with these two units? Our old LMU240HE outdoor unit only cools. If we install the LMU247HV, will it also heat?

            A:

No, both the indoor and outdoor units would have to be set up for heating and cooling in order to perform both. If the indoor units were cool only units, they can not become heating units by just replacing the outdoor unit. The internal make up of the indoor is set up for cooling only. The indoor units would have to be replaced with heating and cooling compatible indoor units as well.

When I click on the Q&A for the unit I just quoted, I get the Q& A for the Tri Level system. So my question is on the Quad-Zone above.

This can be done, but keep in mind that the indoor units would not be able to operate at full capacity when all three of them are running at the same time.

          Q:

Do I have to use all three ports as this is a TRI zone. I want to use 2 indoor units, 9000 and 12000 Btu and leave the third plugged is that okay?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

You need to use at least two indoor units with this unit in order fot the system to function properly, but you do not need to use three indoor units. A 9,000 and 12,000 BTU combination is acceptable.

          Q:

I would like to use all three zones as an AC unit. I see that LG only makes 9000 BTU's as the smallest unit. Can I use either three 9000 BTU units indoors with this condensor or is it possible to use two 9000 units and one higher?

          thanks
