                Can the pump lay sideways and operate normally as long as it's completely submerged underwater?

                  According to Little Giant the pump cannot be laid sideways for operation. They suggest looking at the 566409 as an alternative.

                  This unit will go down to 1/8" so it must have at least that much for it to do anything at all.
