    Exceeded expectations

        Best Uses

After extensive research, I purchased this Panasonic Multisplit unit from PexSupply last year, and ran it over the winter to heat our vacation home in Western Pennsylvania. We had a very cold winter, but I was impressed that the unit kept producing ample heat, even in temps in single digits blizzard conditions.

Panasonic has the best warranty and price point for a dual head multisplit inverter of this size. Mitsubishi and Fujitsu may have slightly better specs, but the cost is considerably higher. On the other hand, there are a bunch of Chinese providers with lesser specs and very limited warranties, that are just not worth the problems for any price difference.

Would suggest to go with the 2x 12K indoor units rather than the 9K. Even though 2x12K exceeds the total heat output of the outdoor unit, it provides flexibility to provide greater heat/cooling in any one room when there is less than full demand in the other room, and the difference in cost between 9K and 12K indoor unit is about $10.

My only complaint is that the lowest heat setting is 60 degrees. While not a problem for most settings, being a vacation home, when not in use I would otherwise set to 50. Seems like this is somewhat an oversight.

Definitely have a pro set it up and charge the system. If you are handy, do all the mounting electrical and tubing runs, but still have someone assist with charging the system to get it right.
