Description for Rifeng HCRIMP07

Rifeng crimp fittings are compatible with PEX tubing. Crimp fittings are barbed for installation inside tubing after which a crimp ring or cinch clamp is used to hold the fitting onto the tubing.

Copper PEX rings are crimped using a Crimp Tool to an acceptable diameter then checked by a diameter Go-No-Go Gauge. Copper PEX rings are designed to go over PEX tubing to lock in barbed PEX crimp fittings onto the tubing. High quality material and manufacturing insure a tight seal over PEX tubing using a pex crimping Tool.

Used them for setting manifolds. Make sure the crimper has space to completely open the handles (same with 1/2") and you don't have to be at arms length from the work. Otherwise they work beautifully. Only one had to be redone. Easily decrimped with a Dremel-like disc if you are careful.

I was adding some plumbing into my existing house with Type-A pex, but I went with Rifeng type B pex for my work due to the price. I used Rifling pipe, fittings, and crimp rings. I did a few 3/4" crimps, and they were fine! However, the 1" crimps are impossible. Every one of them crimps oval. I even got to the point where I bought a different crimp tool, and had the same result. The crimps are level and even all the way around, but they just don't crimp evenly. They pass the go no go gauge if I put it on the crimp ring a certain way, but if I turn the gauge, it won't turn. Very dissapointed in these.

In floor radiant heat. It is such a nice heat, and with the pex you do not hear the water in the pipes like older metal systems.

Comments about 1" PEX Crimp Ring:

Are you really reading a review about crimp rings? It must be late. Go to bed. These withstand pressure. Apparently, you are under a lot of pressure because you are reading a review about crimp rings. Go to bed before you blow a seal.

Comments about 3/8" PEX Crimp Ring:

Used these to plumb 3/8 supply runs to lower flow hot-water fixtures like sinks and dishwasher. Now I get hot water to the distant fixtures much faster than with larger diameter pipes and no impact on pressure at the end.

Comments about 1/2" PEX Crimp Ring:

The copper crimp ring is the most effective way to seal pex fittings. Way more relible than the stainless rings. I you don't want to go back and fix drips, the copper rings are the way to go.

can it be used under ground?

      A:

Yes, as with any metal underground it would always be best to put a sleeve
      over it.

      Answered on 1/9/2014 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

It is not recommended to have any fittings under ground.
With that said, I believe that the pex crimp fittings will do as well as any other fittings in a direct burial situation.
Take care to bury the whole pipeline in clean sand free of stones. You may want to use some 2" vinyl tape on the fittings to help with moisture protection, but I'm not sure that's really needed.

  • 5/8" PEX Crimp Ring

    Q:

Do you measure the outside diameter of the ring or the insde?
    Asked on 11/5/2012 by dave

    5 answers

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

It's the size of the piping that it fits on. The ring diameter has nothing
      to do with the size.

      Answered on 11/5/2012 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

if it's a 1/2" crimp ring it will fit on 1/2" pex. The crimp ring slides over the pex, so even the ID is a bit bigger than 1/2", but it gets squashed there and will fit.

      Answered on 11/6/2012 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

      Dave,
The ring is sold as a match to pex pipe which comes in standard sizes of
3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1" sizes. Normally, pipe is sold with the measurement
meaning the inside diameter (or ID) as it is referred to. The crimp ring
will have and inside diameter that will be a little bit larger than the OD
(outside diameter) of the pex pipe. Whatever size pipe you feel you need
for fluid transport (as listed earlier) you buy the crimps to match. They
are not sold by their actual size but for the pipe they are used on.

      Answered on 11/6/2012 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Typically you buy the crimp rings depending on the size of pipe you are
using it on. If you have 5/8" PEX then buy 5/8" crimp rings. If you are
using them for something besides PEX (which I wouldn't reccomend) typically
PEX sizes are mesured by outer diamter, and crimp rings are designed to fit
over the outside of the pipe, so a 5/8" crimp ring would have an inside
      diameter of 5/8"

      Answered on 11/7/2012 by Anonymous
    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Crimp rings are sized based on the nominal size of the PEX with which they are compatible. This 5/8" ring (part HCRIMP06) works with 5/8" PEX. 5/8" PEX has a .574" inside diameter and a .750" outside diameter.

Yes, the Wirsbo Aquapex tubing fits standard copper compression rings.
Aquapex is a very high-quality tubing well suited to compression fittings. I have had no problems in three years of use, even though parts of the lines have frozen solid several times.
