Comments about Mechanical Millivolt Thermostat (48-86F):

I used this on my gas fireplace. After trying 2 different digital thermostats that I couldn't get to work on my 24V system I installed the Robertshaw and the fireplace fired right up. I couldn't be happier!

Comments about Mechanical Millivolt Thermostat (48-86F):

Our little greenhouse has a simple gas furnace that requires a millivolt thermostat. In the wet environment, they usually fail in two years or less. This one has only been in place for about a month; we'll see how it works after a year.

Comments about Mechanical Millivolt Thermostat (48-86F):

Grandfather lives in our little guest house.
He had a difficult time seeing and ontrolling the old lever type thermostat.
He has hand palsy and the beginning stages of Parkinsons' Disease.

The round RobertShaw is not only easy to read but also easy to manipulate
So he can control his micro climate.

I am not referring to Robert Shaw , AKA Sam Quint, the star of JAWS.

thanks for your prompt and personal attention

Comments about Mechanical Millivolt Thermostat (48-86F):

We use this thermostate in a greenhouse enviroment. It is exposed to high heat and extreme humidity and function flawlessly for 4 plus years. It is inexpensive and easy to replace. Maybe we will get ten years out of the next one.

Comments about Mechanical Millivolt Thermostat (48-86F):

I use this to control my Jotul gas burning stove that is equipped with a 750 millivolt thermopile. It was easy to install, and does not need any other outside electrical source. It doesn't need to be perfectly level either. This unit can only be used for heating, not heating and cooling.

The numbers on the bottom of the thermostat's display reflect the actual room temperature, while the numbers on the top allow you to use the red arrow to adjust the set point.

  • Mechanical Millivolt Thermostat (48-86F)

    Q:

I have a studio apartment with a robertshaw 200-501 millivolt mechanical thermostat, but i also have a digital thermometer too. My Thermometer says 74.1, but my thermostat dial says approximately 72.5. The thermostat is set to about 72.5. The themostat has no problem getting the set temperature to match its temperature reading but it doesnt match the temperature on my digital thermometer. So how do i get the thermostat gauge to display the correct temperature in my apartment?

You would need to replace your mechanical thermostat with a digital unit to correct this.
