    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

It is an emergency or auxiliary heat setting that this thermostat can accommodate (should you have a backup heat source) when the primary heat source is not able to handle the heating load.

  • 300-208 Non-Programmable Thermostat

    Q:

What are all three lights for? I know the middle one is for aux. heat but what about the other two? Thanks
    Asked on 12/21/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • A:

The LED's on the Left and the Right are free lights that can be adapted to work with warning lights on your unit, the middle light is a warning about the auxillary heat source being activated.

  • 300-208 Non-Programmable Thermostat

    Q:

What causes the auxiliary heat to be activated and how do I shut off the auxiliary heat
Asked on 12/4/2011 by Reddog from Nova Scotia , Canada

    2 answers

    • A:

I assume that you are asking about the red light on top that indicates that the auxiliary is turned on, sometimes this light will turn on although there is no auxiliary heat available or if the breaker to it is off.

Answered on 12/13/2011 by Anonymous from None
    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The auxiliary heat turns on automatically when the primary heat source is not enough to meet the heating demand. Lowering the set point temperature would likely be the easiest way to get it to go off.

It's quite possible the thermostat is no longer operating properly. We recommend either having a licensed technician troubleshoot the thermostat or consider replacing it entirely.

You should check the power going to the unit. If it is hooked up correctly, this could mean that the unit is defective.
