Supply House Rocks !!!!

By Scott

Comments about 1/2" X 1/2" Low Profile Millivolt Combo Gas Valve:

A disabled neighbor asked me to look at his gas log fireplace because it was not working correctly. I checked the basics like wire connections etc. I called a local Heating Cooling company to look at it and the technician they sent told us that the gas valve was sticking and that it would not be cost effective to replace it, stating that it would be just as costly as to replace the whole furnace. I checked the prices of furnaces and as suspected, they were in the hundreds to thousands of dollar range. I did a little research on line and found Supply House. I called them with the part number and the technician I spoke to was very courteous and helpful. He found a cross match item that he assured me would work. I ordered it for my neighbor and within a week the part was here. I switched the gas valves out and the furnace works perfectly now. Instead of thousands, the cost of the valve was about $83.00 with shipping and taxes. Thanks Supply House. You ROCK !!!!

Comments about 1/2" X 1/2" Low Profile Millivolt Combo Gas Valve:

This is for a small Hearthstone stove. Robertshaw united a lot of part numbers to reduce their catalog. I also ordered the "HI-LO Gas Regulator for LP Gas SKU: 1751-021" because mine is an LP application. The valve as delivered is for a natural gas application.

"I am very satisfied with this product"

By DK

Comments about 1/2" X 1/2" Low Profile Millivolt Combo Gas Valve:

I have an older duo-therm 10000 btu camper furnace that had a bad gas valve. After doing some research & talking to personal at Pex Supply I decided to go with the robertshaw 710-502. They even went so far as to call Robertshaw directly to get information I needed. Very impressive! The only thing I had to do was to enlarge the hole where the thermocouple for the old gas valve went through to the pilot light to fit the thermopile. I could have gone with a Robertshaw 710-205 which has the thermostat on the gas valve but going with the 710-502 allowed me to put a thermostat on the wall.

Great valve, lousy directions

Comments about 1/2" X 1/2" Low Profile Millivolt Combo Gas Valve:

This gas valve works great with my propane gas free standing stove. The problem that I had was the company that built my stove is still in business and they took forever to give me the information about the valve they would recommend to replace the ITT valve that is no longer made. Seems they want to only sell you new and not back older models. I will no longer deal with them, ever.

Yes the 711-811-413 7000 MVRLC is directly replaced by the 710-502. For propane gas you would also need the gas regulator SKU: 1751-013

  • 1/2" X 1/2" Low Profile Millivolt Combo Gas Valve

    Q:

I need to replace the gas valve in my old Superior gas log fireplace. The original gas valve is a Robertshaw 093771, the proper replacement is apparently Robertshaw 710-502. My log set runs on propane - is this new valve set for propane out of the box? Or is a conversion kit required, and where do I get one and how do I install it? Thanks.

      A:

Part 1751-013 is the LP conversion kit for the 710-502 gas valve. It does not come with the valve and must be purchased separately.

      A:

This is the correct part. 710-502 is the replacement for 7000MVRLC.

Answered on 12/27/2011 by PexSupply Staff from NY
    • A:

The SKU 710-502 is the correct part. It has 3 different outlet ports and you use the one you need. The other two get a metal plug. The plug on the bottom caused the valve to be a little thicker and it took some minor alteration to the install for my log set. There have been no problems since the install.
