These clamps are very strong and durable. The nail is ribbed and VERY difficult to remove once nailed into wood. The clamps have many uses beyond fastening PEX tubing. I use them for fastening Craylon plastic corrugated conduit, they fit the outside diameter perfectly.

Over-all, these clamps are well worth the cost !!! If your a mechanic and prefer your work to look clean, neat and organized, these fastening clamps are for you.

Good product. Good price.

Comments about Tube Talon for 1" PEX Tubing (Bag of 50):

Good quality.

How to use? Strike the flat end with a hammer and the pointy end drives in to whatever is in its way.

I could only find the 1" size of this product at Supplyhouse.com. Delivery was spot-on timely and communication was clear. Price and shipping cost were very reasonable.

Great simple clips

Comments about Tube Talon for 1/2" & 5/8" & 3/4" PEX Tubing (Bag of 100):

These are inexpensive simple clips to help hold pex along your runs. They work great, hold the tubing firm and are able to be used with different size tubes, if you are doing any long runs with studs available it's an easy decision, for the cost you definately should get these

Does the job.

Making more headroom in the basement by changing out the old pipes. Cutting off the extra plastic ring to fit the 3/4" propex pipe is not hard but does slow you down. Overall, good idea and value.

Working on renovation, don't need a hundred of each size of PEX staple. Used these on 1/2 and 3/4 and they work great on both. Makes sense, not a ton of left overs.

Love them

Comments about Tube Talon for 1/2" & 5/8" & 3/4" PEX Tubing (Bag of 100):

Nails grip nicely, makes them difficult to pull when you screw up. The only issue I had was the real estate sacrificed on either side of the pipe when running multiple pipes along a floor joist. I used zip ties in situations of limited space. Took a bag and a half to do my entire home with pex (2 full bath).

Excellent solution

Comments about Tube Talon for 1/2" & 5/8" & 3/4" PEX Tubing (Bag of 100):

These talons are great! One size fits all and the ribbed nail shank grips like crazy. If anything, they grip too much... I'm installing them on old, massive joists, so the hard wood makes it sometimes difficult to nail in and pull out, but I rather they hold too tight, than come loose. Overall, excellent product!

    Q:

do you remove the center part of talon for 3/4" pex

      A:

Good question. Offhand, I don't know. I always had the appropriate sized talon for the pipe.  I would try squeezing it over the pipe first and if that doesn't work find a way to cut off the talon.  I'd been concerned with it not adequately holding the pipe without the talon, but it would be a cheap fix.  However, the time spent cutting all the talons off might not be worth the price of a new bag of appropriate sized talons, IMHO.

No, that is for expansion and contraction. Make sure you have the ones for three quarter.

I don't. Push 3/4 pex into talon and it holds.

  • Tube Talon for 1/2" & 5/8" & 3/4" PEX Tubing (Bag of 100)

    Q:

my understanding is when securing pex tubing, it should not be in contact with the wood. When I used these tube talons, they hold the pex against the wood. Is this the correct product for attaching pex to wood suface?

      A:

If you do not want the PEX to touch the wood directly, we recommend that you use PEX clips ( http://www.pexsupply.com/PEX-Clips-197000 ) instead. They will allow there to be gap between the PEX and the wood, and are normally used in joist bay installations. This creates a more even distribution of heat.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

I'm pretty sure all pex is atached directly to wood. The only problem you could experience is if some part of the tube is not properly fastened and moves or "kicks" during water operation. The resulting rubbing could wear out your tube in the long run (long, like 10 years...). Make sure the bends or corners are properly secured since this is where most of the "kicking" occurs.
