the fins are foil! but when they came in damaged I wrote supplyhouse with photos and without another question they replaced, i see this type of cust. serv. way to seldom these days. Recommendation more based on vendor than the manufacturer.

The baseboards themselves are good. Nothing extremely great, but they work just fine. Everyone I seem to get has a dent/ding in it and not all the fins are straight.

The damage is generally on the back where it doesn't affect the end result which is why I never got a replacement and why it doesn't deserve lower stars. If they had come flawless it would be a 5 star product.

I ordered 3 7' sections of this item. It arrived late due to weather. Each section had bent fins here and there along their length (nothing that couldn't be straightened out by hand) but were in otherwise good working order. I called Pex Supply about the issue and they promptly offered a partial refund. I kept the items ordered, installed them, and they work as planned. Thanks Pex!

Used several of these to add a zone to my basement. Compact and produce more heat than the 2000 line, so I could use fewer.

Four Stars because they got banged up in shipping (mostly crushed fins) - not PEX supply fault(excellent packaging) - but sloppy packaging by Slant Fin (the units can bang around a lot in the factory boxes)

The job worked out great used all new Pex and Sharkbite fittings for the radiation refit made the entire job a breeze, also for the first time I pre purchased all my other fittings and valves which were all top notch and the pricing was way below anybody here.So for the breakdown Installed new Weil Mc lain gold oil fired boiler replacing a 34 year old steel New Yorker added some new Slant Fin radiation replaced some old radiation with more new Slant Fin and added a new Weil 45 indirect water heater now my old house is warmer then toast!. P.S I have ordered from Pex Supply many times and never been disappointed.

Great Product- works great- Fragile in shipping.

I have a much longer review on here somewhere- Basically a good product but the internal packaging doesn't do enough to prevent some damage to the internal fins during shipping. The 8' ones are the most vulnerable. I ordered about 20 of these and 5 of the 8' ones arrived unusable (separate packaging on separate days) do to UPS mishandling.

PexSupply was awesome about replacements but it cost me a couple of days waiting for them. I'd place the blame for the deficient internal packaging on SlantFin and not PexSupply.

Although it would be possible to use SharkBite fittings to connect PEX to one end of a baseboard (the side with a smaller, "street" connection), you may want to look at Runtal-brand baseboards. These have 1/2" female NPT connections, which would enable you to connect to PEX without first needing to solder any adapters.

I understand this will have a negative effect on heat distribution, but I assume these can also work as chillers in the summer.

If you are running the pipes through the ceiling you would have to worry about freezing. If your furnace will let you run the pump only for the summer you can use it for cooling. I just ran the pipe through the wall by drilling a hole and taking the fins off at that point or order the right length. Most all places that sell these things will answer any questions. I am a 64 yr old women and I did it myself, with a little help from my sister and company that I bought them from.

I would think the floor area will remain cold. Using cool water in them in the summer would create a great deal of condensation on the fins if there is any humidity in the air.
