I would give this 5 stars if I did not have so much trouble with the last piece I attached, which was the damper fin. There were no instructions in the box, as I realized after I had the whole thing installed, that perhaps it is meant to already be installed on the large backer panel, before the whole thing is installed. Again, this would have been nice to know, because it was near impossible to install this after the backer was permanently installed. It resulted in one full-length edge of my 4' damper to become quite scraped, as I had a choice: de-install everything I had done then attach the damper then re-install, OR force the damper in by prying it past the upper lip of the backer panel. This scratched edge of course is visible. This infuriates me, as the rest of this replacement enclosure (and it endcaps) are brand new and FLAWLESS. It kind of spoiled the job for me and my wife. Does Pex or SlantFin sell damper fin replacement part only? If the only option is replacing the whole MultiPak80 kit, than that will upset me more... Bottom line is yes, I would refer this, but SlantFin SHOULD INCLUDE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS!

Comments about 7 ft. Multi/Pak 80D Baseboard (Cover Only):

Used the baseboard covers only to replace 60+ year old rusted baseboard heater covers. The heating elements themselves were OK. Even though the old heater were not Slant Fin (no idea what brand they were) these covers worked well. I also used the 3' section, as well as the left & right end caps and the inside corner piece. Definitely took some work getting them installed behind the existing elements and mounted to a ceramic tile wall over an 1" think plaster wall. However, they look great and the bathroom has a bright, clean look.

The product is a high quality dent resistant baseboard cover. The customer service was great. I had some minor issues with the shipping/packaging but they were corrected promptly. I would highly recommend Pex Supply to anyone.

bought serveral of these along with a 7'and elements. interior support brackets were all bent on all of them and in some case the ends of the elements were all bunged up. One element had acutally cut out a piece of the card board container it comes in and was stuck down inside. Pex had to send new plastic exapansion cradles becsue a lot of them were broken. I don't know if they arrived at Pex in this condition and they just sent them on. They units themselves were package by pex very well. Slant fin should put some type of protection caps over ends of elements. After straightening brackets, product has worked very nicely. Pex was very helpful in getting new expansion brackets and sending them right out.

The damper is deformed into an arc and therefore not usable. Received a second set and it has the same problem. Apparently a manufacturing defect, using a faulty procedure while pressing the damper.

It'd be much easier to install if the piping wasn't done first. We used it for a remodel in our bathroom. Looks great!

We live in an older home and it is very difficult to find the right size replacement covers for the baseboard. The dimensions and information listed in the product description were very accurate and the delivery was extremely fast. One piece did not arrive in the original shipment but an email to customer service quickly addressed this.

To install covers, after removing old covers I locate the studs and mark and drill two holes about every stud in the rear part of the cover, I then fasten the cover with sheet rock screws. Then I install the brackets I either slide them from the ends or you can pop them in , I then install the movable flap by sticking the edge that will be at the top underneath the top of the rear cover lining up the grooves in the movable flap with the brackets and then snap it in (this can be tricky) Then install the face plate on the brackets sometimes you'll have straighten the bottom of the bracket to hold the faceplate. Gets easier after the first one. Hope this helps....
