My most recent project was to elevate an existing 1,100 sq ft ranch house 11 ft up and build a new 1st floor under it with an additional two story 24 ft x 24 ft addition. I used the Baseline 2000 Baseboard in several lenghts, They installed easily and I could join them together for the lenghts needed for different rooms. I used pex tubing for supply and return lines and crimp tool and fittings all supplied pexSupply.com. All these products are quality products and are priced at or lower then local supply stores. I gotta tell you I may be good at swinging a hammer but heating and cooling, I had no talent untill now,it was not difficult to install! I am eyeing my next project and I will diffinetly be using these products again.

All the Baseboard arrived Damaged, I called customer service and they shipped replacements. all the replacements arrived banged up. I would never buy via fright again. SupplyHouse tried but the Product does not ship well. How many days should I put off my clients job to get non damaged goods. The covers were all bent and the clips broken, both times.

Great vaule baseboard

Comments about 8 ft. Baseline 2000 Baseboard (3/4"):

I have several zones utilizing Base/Line 2000, they work great and look good as well. They seem to be well built and the enclosures provide plenty of room for connections and line entry through the wall or floor. These are low enough to clear normal-height power outlets. Just remember any baseboard trim will have to be removed.

  • 8 ft. Baseline 2000 Baseboard (3/4")

    Q:

can i use them in an open loop system
    Asked on 9/15/2014 by tony

    1 answer

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

In general copper is fine for open loop systems, so they should be.
Slantfin do not explicitly say they can be used in open loop systems though.

    Q:

I feel silly but I can't seem to figure out how to get the front on my 3ft. radiator. It all soldered in but I haven't figured out how to get the front back on the radiator. Bill Watson
Asked on 4/12/2014 by Bill Watson from Midlothian, Va.

    2 answers

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

The front should just press back on. Hook the bottom of the front piece
and then while applying a bit of upward pressure rotate the top back and
      onto the brackets.

      Answered on 4/25/2014 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Just hang the cover on the brackets from the top (using the bent lip on the back of the cover). Then push in on the bottom of the cover (where the brackets are) and the bottom lip should just snap onto the bracket.

  • 7 ft. Baseline 2000 Baseboard (3/4")

    Q:

the 600 btu rating is the same on 2ft through 8ft..? Is this correct?

If the calculator says I need 9 ft based on the 35btu per square foot needed... well, do I buy a 4 and 5, or a 6 and 3, or a 3, 3, 3... or doesnt it matter? If find it hard to believe that a 3' puts out the same btu as a 8'?

Can you please clarify? I need to do a few rooms on this project and want them to perform the best they can. thank you
Asked on 2/1/2014 by john from United States

    2 answers

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

The BTU rating is a per-foot basis assuming the water temp is 180 deg F and the room temp is about 70
      deg F.

      Answered on 2/4/2014 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

Ratings for baseboard, and other radiant heaters, are typically given by
the liner foot at some specified temperature and flow rate. In this
case the per foot BTU output of 600 is with 180 degree F. water and a
flow rate of 4 gpm (gallons per minute).
So, if you will have 4 gpm and water at 180 deg. F, take your BTU
requirement based on the square footage, and divide by the 600 BTUs to
get the total length of baseboard you need.
There is a chart you can use for other water temperatures and at 1 gpm.

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

No, it doesn't. It does however come with a small piece to seam two units together. But its like 2.5" about. If you need more space you should get I think its the 4" or 6" seam. But to answer your question, no end caps.

      Answered on 10/7/2013 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

They come with splice fittings. End caps must be purchased separately. Make sure you order with right or left ends as they are different.

No this item doesn't come with end caps. Because it can be joined to other base boards at angles or terminated with a cap.

Under my CFL bathroom lighting, it appears to be more of a slight beige-white (antique white) when viewed along side my American Standard pure white bathtub.
You can see a slight contrast between them.

Can I buy JUST the heating element without the metal enclosures? I need 6@8ft 1@3ft and 4@6ft ? Thanks

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

The final answer should come from Pex after they discuss this with the factory.  When I bought my units, I think they came pre-packaged from the factory, so this probably is not something they are prepared to do.  Anyway, I imagine the cost of the enclosure would be small compared to the cost of the heating element.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Baseline 2000 models were introduced during the 1990s, so they likely wouldn't be an exact match. You may want to look at the dimensions on Slant/Fin's Fine/Line models to see if they are a closer match.

I have existing cast iron baseboards that are almost 60 years old and have started to leak. Would these units be suitable replacements? Please note that I live in Pennsylvania which I believe would classify as a cold climate.
Asked on 12/16/2011 by Keith from Pittsburgh, PA

The Slant/Fin 8 ft. Baseline 2000 Baseboard (3/4) are suitable replacements for your leaking cast iron baseboard units.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

These units can replace older hydronic baseboards that have 3/4" elements. Slant/Fin also offers Fine/Line 30, Fine/Line 15, and Multi/Pak 80 baseboards. These sizing and design of these series differ slightly.
