Superior to Eemax

Comments about DHC-E 10 Electric Tankless Water Heater:

I replaced an older Eemax with a Stiebel Eltron DHC 10 E which has the same power consumption but better responsiveness. Costs a bit more but worth the difference. [...] the manufacturer [...] very helpful. You will need an eight gauge run from a 240 volt 50 amp breaker.

Comments about DHC-E 10 Electric Tankless Water Heater:

Used for one bathroom plus laundry in FLA keys. It delivers unlimited hot water. Whether performance will be as good in January-we'll see, but in May this little unit does the job.

      A:

According to the manufacturer, DHC series units are mechanical units. They have no temperature sensors and basically will raise the incoming water by x°F depending on the kW model. They are meant to be plumbed with a cold water supply only and should be used for one single point-of-use application. DHC-E units are thermostatically controlled. They can be fed with cold water or hot water, making them perfect as boosters. You can set the temperature between 86°F and 140°F. They can be used for several low-flow applications at a time.

    • A:

The plain vanilla DHC heats whatever flows through it. The "E" model adds a thermostatic component so if you are using it as a booster and if the flow is warm then the heating turns down or off.
